Walt Disney Pictures Presents: The Great Photo Book of My Disney World Visit

Walt Disney Pictures Presents: The Great Photo Book of My Disney World Visit

There’s something that we can all agree on, a trip to Disney World is the epitome of the ultimate family vacation.

There are just so many classic and contemporary characters to meet, so many things to see and so many memories to share with others!

But all those pictures taken at Disney World deserve way better than just sitting idle in your Disney PhotoPass account or being tossed into one of the many folders on your computer. This is where putting your photos into a photo book comes in handy. And thankfully you actually have a choice here: trusting the House of Mouse with your photos or taking on the task yourself and creating your photo book on your own.

Disney PhotoPass

Using Disney’s own photo service is definitely the more convenient method for various reasons. The biggest of these is that you are not obliged to use your own pictures (though this option is available), since you just have to ask the photographers of Disney World and they will gladly take photos of your best moments. These photos are then available for purchase on your Disney PhotoPass account, where you can even use said photos for a Disney-themed photo book created by the House of Mouse’s very own photo book editor.

Speaking of the editor, it’s capable of everything an average online builder should be. There are choices from various covers, themes, backgrounds and layouts, all of which can be further customized with additional (spell-checked) text, frames and Disney stickers. However, the service is far from ideal – and the main problem is not the editor, but everything else. Compared to regular photo book companies, Disney PhotoPass is much less versatile, which is most evident by offering just one book size. Not only that, but the photo storage automatically deletes pictures after a certain amount of time unless you’ve already bought and downloaded the photos taken by Disney staff. And that’s where things get worse, since the base price of a standard 20-page photo book is incredibly expensive $79.95.

Adding the Disney magic with other photo book companies

But what if you would rather rely on the photos you took with your own device? Then you are in for a treat, since the market is full of various photo book companies, each of them ready to take the challenge of preserving your most cherished Disney World photos in the best way. This isn’t quite perfect, however, since the selection of Disney themes at many of these third party photo book editors are pretty limited.

There are some companies that do offer up some options for theming a photo book around Disney, though. Shutterfly, one of the biggest photo book companieshas five Disney styles (one is actually Star Wars related) with which you can recreate the Disney World experience the same way, if not better than Disney PhotoPass. Not only that, but you can also choose from six photo book sizes, eight covers and other themes that you can mix with the Disney one. But most importantly, Shutterfly is cheap and fast: books start from $15.99, and are produced and shipped within ten business days.

And what if there is no Disney theme in your chosen photo book editor? No worries, just think outside the box: you can always use the theme park style or something equally colorful to emphasize the fun of being at Disney World. Additionally, photos can be ‘upgraded’ by manually adding Disney-themed elements to them and upload those new pictures to the editor. And last but not least, you can always order your photo book as is and add any Disney-based extras like stickers, tapes, ribbons and the like once you have the book in your possession.
