VoiPLy offers a thorough service that sports more than 50 features. All the essential capabilities are included, but you can count on some extra advanced features as well, such as advanced IVR and spam blocking. The pricing strategy sits on a user-base foundation, meaning that customers pay per user. They also get unlimited minutes to the U.S. and Canada. Better still, phone numbers are also included in the package: it’s possible to have local numbers for any American state or Canadian province, toll-free numbers, or even the customer’s existing number. International numbers are also an option, but a monthly fee starting from about $5 is applied. The service can be paid in monthly or yearly installments, where the latter yields a 20% discount. Regardless of the billing cycle, there’s always the safety net of a 30-day money-back guarantee, and there are no contracts. In other words, creating an account is hassle- and worry-free.

For an acceptable price, VoiPLy offers more than 50 features to play with. It’s a comprehensive service that not only comes with all the regular call handling features, but also several advanced ones like conferencing for up to 50 people, softphone, advanced IVR, faxing, and voicemail-to-email.

Advanced IVR

Setting up an IVR can be a headache sometimes, but not with VoiPLy. While still purchasing the service, pending customers can set up their IVR right away – a great way to discover whether it answers their needs. There are two different options: setting up a regular digital assistant or jumping a step further to the advanced IVR. Besides all the configurations available in the first option, the latter lets you choose which users to call, who will receive voicemails, business hours, and between a group or sequential ring. And thanks to text-to-speech software, it’s possible to compose on the spot what the digital assistant will say.

Blocking spam calls and text messages

Everyone hates spam, so having a feature that blocks it right away is a pleasant addition. Besides letting users block specific numbers, VoiPLy can be configured to screen all calls and automatically transfer robocalls or telemarketers to its own bot named Harold, filter spam SMS, or reject anonymous calls.

To top it all off, apart from online faxing capabilities costing $5 a month, everything comes included in VoiPLy’s plan. In other words, companies can take advantage of all these features without adding to their monthly costs.

Call Handling

As expected, many of the 50-plus included features concern call handling, and this is where VoiPLy’s years of experience in the industry start to show.

Right off the bat, VoiPLy ensures that you can pick up calls wherever you are. At work, you may prefer the good ol’ desk phone, but there’s also the option to accept calls through a softphone available from any browser, or through VoiPLy’s mobile apps. Furthermore, thanks to the call forwarding feature it’s also possible to pick up right from your mobile phone.

Once you’re already talking to a customer, VoiPLy offers all the options needed to provide the best customer service possible. Call transfer is always a choice, but if it’s preferable to keep both you and your colleague on the line, 3-way conference calling is the way to go. On top of that, if the customer tries to reach the company outside of business hours, they can leave a voicemail message that will be sent directly to your email. Users can either record their voicemail message or use the text-to-speech software and set the number of rings before the customer is sent to voicemail.

Phone System Management

VoiPLy’s dashboard is modern and looks great. Unfortunately, the user experience is far from excellent. Though visually appealing, it’s easy to anticipate that companies with a fair number of employees will have a hard time setting everything up. Nevertheless, it’s intuitive and easy to find all the settings.

Fairly uniquely, VoiPLy’s dashboard appears when setting up the account. In other words, it’s possible to set everything up even before purchasing the software. Moreover, instead of having a dashboard with multiple tabs, everything appears on the same page, and only when clicking to edit a feature will a popup box appear. This extremely user-friendly approach means new users won’t have much trouble understanding how to tweak every single section.

What’s more, most sections have explanatory videos for each type of setting or piece of equipment. For example, when choosing the best way to pick up a call, there’s a small video explaining each call scenario so users know right away which one they should pick.

VoiPLy does not charge for American and Canadian numbers, offering local numbers for all American states and Canadian provinces. However, for international numbers, an extra fee is applied that starts at $4.95 per month. If you already have a number you’d like to keep, porting it is also a cost-free option.

VoiPLy gives the option to get toll-free numbers as well. It’s possible to opt between 844, 855, 866, 877, and 888 prefixes. However, vanity numbers are out of the picture. Though a bit disappointing, it’s exceptional that there are no extra monthly fees, no matter which type of number is chosen.

Together with the free VoiPLy adapter, when you get a plan with this virtual phone system you also get access to its app, which works for both Android and iOS. It lets you make calls, send and receive messages, and import contacts easily.

Integrations

As you know, conversations with customers give valuable information to help manage a business and understand where to improve. Now more than ever, it’s imperative for companies to take advantage of these opportunities to improve their products or services. To facilitate this, VoIP services all around the world offer integrations to various CRM software, and VoiPLy is no different.

Various services can be integrated with VoiPLy. It’s possible to incorporate call logs with HubSpot or call flow with Zapier. Beyond these, calls can be converted to SMS inside Intercom, call recordings can be uploaded to SoundCloud, call info can be tracked in Google Analytics, and surveys from SurveyMonkey can be integrated into the call flow.

Unlike most of its competitors, VoiPLy’s pricing is straightforward and without hidden fees. There is only one price tier where you can opt between annual or monthly billing cycles. The former is cheaper, costing $11.16 per month and saving you 20% compared to the monthly installments. Besides the online faxing feature that costs $5 per month, VoiPLy offers full access to all its features and unlimited calls inside the U.S. and Canada.

VoiPLy provides a free phone adapter for each user added to the account – perfect if you already have a phone system installed. However, purchasing the hardware itself is also an option. There are two alternatives: desk or cordless phones. The former costs $79.95 per unit while the latter costs $149.95. Regardless of your choice, a shipping fee applies that can go from $9.99 to $29.99 depending on how quickly you want your hardware to arrive.

One great thing about VoiPLy’s pricing policies is that there is no contract. In other words, it’s possible to stop working with VoiPLy anytime without suffering any penalties. Best of all, the company still offers a 30-day money-back guarantee to test the product. When it comes to the payment itself, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express are accepted.

VoiPLy’s website is not the best. Although it looks modern, it’s hard to find information, and most of its FAQ is outdated. Thankfully, you’ll never feel lost: there’s a friendly and very helpful 24/7 live chat. The customer support agents are not only knowledgeable but also friendly and quick to answer – especially useful during the process of building an account. Although the live chat will probably suffice, there are other channels for contacting VoiPLy, such as phone, email, and social media. The company’s Facebook posts come out almost every day and the company can be contacted through Messenger, though it’s not very active on Twitter or LinkedIn.

Bottom Line

VoiPLy is a reliable virtual phone system, but there is room for improvement. Although modern, both the website and the admin dashboard are not the most user-friendly out there. Moreover, it doesn’t help that it’s difficult to get a full picture of the product or that most of the FAQ still refers to previous software versions. Nonetheless, for a fair price VoiPLy offers a vast array of features, including more advanced ones that are often overlooked by its competitors. The price is all the more reasonable because it includes a phone number, unlimited calls for the U.S. and Canada, and one VoiPLy adaptor per user. Better yet, it’s possible to test the service through the 30-day money-back guarantee, and customers are not bound to a contract.

However, when it comes to everything else Cloud Phone is a jackpot, particularly for new businesses. All essential features are available regardless of the chosen subscription plan, the service includes a simple, straightforward, mobile browser-compatible account manager, while extras like the completely free mobile-only features provide everything you might need completely for free. And all of this comes with the option to pick and choose how many free domestic calls and business SMSs will fit into your business needs in one of four pricing plans, all of which offer outstanding value for money and a generous 30-day free trial.
