From one of the biggest business app providers in the world comes Zoho Webinar – an intuitive software that makes hosting a webinar as easy as 1-2-3.

Although some features might be missing, the company does the basics exceptionally well, especially when it comes to scheduling and hosting live webinars. Zoho Webinar offers the main three webinar engagement tools (Q&As, polls, and a live chat) and plenty of customization to make the platform uniquely yours.

The best part is that you and a co-organizer can use the platform for free to run 60-minute webinars with up to 100 attendees. Moreover, premium features can be tested during its 14-day free trial, and all purchases are protected by a 45-day refund policy.

Zoho Webinar may be a younger contender on the market, but it has gotten the basics right.

The software allows unlimited live and on-demand webinars and provides all the necessary features.

Although we may have missed having more advanced tools, we were pleased to see that there was plenty of customization. It’s possible to upload your logo, change the name of the webinar room, create custom registration forms, and even have a custom domain.

Live webinars

Live webinars are the core of webinar marketing, which is at this platform’s heart. Zoho Webinar supports up to 5,000 attendees and allows unlimited cohosts to present together.

Sessions have standard HD quality with a 720p resolution, and audio is also decent due to the built-in noise cancellation. The platform provides screen and file sharing, but its lack of a whiteboard was disappointing.

Another missing feature was breakout rooms. Considering the large number of attendees this software supports, it would be useful to be able to split them up.

On the bright side, you can boost your reach by livestreaming your webinars to YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn with just a few clicks.

Audience engagement

A webinar is only as good as its audience engagement, as it’s the only way to guarantee attendees are paying attention and interested. Zoho Webinar offers live chat, Q&A, and polls for you to interact with your audience.

The chat and Q&A are easily found on the left side of the room, so you can quickly check and answer queries, although we recommend having a cohost help you moderate. Plus, there’s also the possibility of reacting with an emoji.

Polls can also be created on the fly, but it may be best to build them during scheduling. You can choose between single and multiple-choice and star-rating polls.

Attendees can raise a hand to request to speak, and hosts can allow them to share their webcam and mic feeds. Unfortunately, that’s as far as the engagement tools go.

Along with the missing whiteboard, Zoho Webinar lacks other features to gamify sessions like leaderboards or quizzes.

On-demand webinars and automatization

All paying customers can record and repurpose their webinars. The company provides 50GB of cloud storage (which can be increased at an extra cost) and supports webinar recordings of up to 12 hours. However, editing requires third-party software.

Only users of the top-tier plan can access on-demand webinars. We found this a bit lackluster as the maximum supported video file size is 1GB, and the longest preview is three hours.

Zoho Webinar file management

Zoho Webinar lets you create recurring webinars, but only for live webinars. It’s a good way to schedule a webinar series up-front, but it doesn’t provide the value of automated webinars that other similar software offers.

Analytics and reporting

Zoho Webinar provides three basic reports: session count, session duration, and session history. These offer a good overview of the number and duration of the webinars, but none of the juicy details that are essential to understanding how well they’re doing.

We would have liked to see other crucial insights, such as attendance rates, attendee engagement, drop-off rates, and lead scoring.

Setup

Setting up and using Zoho Webinar is a walk in the park.

Before jumping into your first webinar, we recommend configuring the general settings. This should take around 15 minutes, and everything is easily accessible on the same menu.

Afterward, it’s time to schedule your first webinar. Again, everything is straightforward and should take only a few minutes.

The software guides you through everything you need to do, from adding basic information to inviting cohosts, creating polls, and setting up registration forms.

Hosting the webinar is just as simple. The interface is minimalist, and everything is visible and one click away.

The chat, Q&A, polls, and attendee list are on the left side. The buttons to conduct the webinar are on the bottom right. This makes it easy to present and interact smoothly with your audience.

Security

All webinars hosted on Zoho Webinar are protected by DTLS-SRTP encryption and other security measures, such as TLS protocol version 1.2 and SHA-256 certificates.

The software also provides several features to ensure that online webinars remain secure, such as preventing unauthorized access by only allowing attendees who have registered and manually accepting these registrations.

It’s also possible to prevent people from sharing files in the chat, automatically anonymize the personal data of people joining, and even keep questions anonymous to protect attendees’ privacy.

Healthcare providers can also use Zoho Webinar, which provides everything necessary to host HIPAA-compliant webinars.

Pricing

Zoho Webinar pricing is a bit complicated. Its three paid plans – Standard, Professional, and Enterprise – include prices that change depending on the number of attendees.

For example, Standard starts at $8 per host per month for 25 attendees with annual billing. However, if you opt for 100 attendees, the price rockets to $18 per month.

Due to this, we found Zoho Webinar's pricing steep, especially considering that some standard features found in the base plans of other webinar software are only accessible in the more expensive Zoho Webinar subscriptions.

But we have to hand it to the provider for offering a free account that allows for two hosts and unlimited webinars. Even though free plan users can only run webinars of up to 60 minutes with a maximum of 100 attendees, this is enough for many small businesses.

The company’s 14-day free trial allows users to try all its premium features. Plus, all purchases are protected by a money-back guarantee. Customers on a monthly plan have 30 days to request a full refund, while users with an annual subscription have 45 days.

Customer support

Zoho may want to think about hosting a webinar explaining how its customer support works.

Customer service depends on your location, whether you’re a free or paying customer, and if you have subscribed to a paid customer service plan.

Free plan users can only reach out to the company via email while paying customers can access live chat and phone. Operating hours depend on the country you’re contacting it from, and they vary from the usual 9-5 to around the clock on business days.

Going for Premium or Enterprise customer support offers additional perks, such as ticket priority, 24/7 support, and a dedicated technical account manager.

However, there are plenty of resources to check before contacting customer support. The help center provides several user guides, articles, and FAQs. Additionally, you can request a free demo or attend a free training webinar.

Finally, Zoho Webinar provides a lot of interesting written, video, and podcast content on its website and social media profiles (X, LinkedIn, and YouTube).

Bottom line

Zoho Webinar offers a reliable platform that covers all the basics, and we’re excited to see how it develops.

Despite lacking features like a whiteboard and automated webinars, Zoho Webinar excels in providing streamlined live webinars. The platform is intuitive and easy to set up, and hosting webinars with it is a delight.

Zoho Webinar webpage

The free plan is also quite generous, offering webinars with up to 100 attendees and two hosts. On the flip side, Zoho Webinar's pricing structure is complex and expensive, even considering the discounts that come with annual billing.

The lack of calls to action, integration with payment gateways, and automated webinars make it a poor choice for businesses focusing on webinar marketing for sales and lead conversion. Instead, we recommend Zoho Webinar for internal use, such as hosting town halls, onboarding, customer demos, or training.

If you’re considering giving Zoho Webinar a go, remember that you can test all its features with its 14-day free trial and that purchases are protected by a money-back guarantee of up to 45 days.
