Photo Books: The Touch of Instagram

Photo Books: The Touch of Instagram

We all know that Instagram is a wonderful way of expressing yourself with the art of photography. Showing others how you see the world and following fellow amateur or professional photographers is always a pleasure; but wouldn’t it be more awesome to see the Instagram photos in a way nobody would expect them: a photo book? Think about it: uploading your Instagram photos to a photo book could not only preserve your pictures in a special way, but, they could also be nice presents.

Creating a photo book from Instagram pictures

The easiest way of using the power of Instagram is by simply uploading pictures stored therein to the photo book editor. It’s a bit tricky as not all editors allow you to upload pictures from your Instagram profiles – despite having the ability to upload pictures from your Facebook account. So the first thing you should do is search for a photo book solution that is capable of integrating Instagram pictures.

Thankfully, many of the online editors we have tested – from AdoramaPixBlurbShutterflyMixbookMontageCollage.com and RitzPix – allow you to sign into your Instagram account after which every picture will be imported to the photo book editor’s online storage. In fact, thanks to the auto-fill option, all you have to do is just wait a few seconds and the editor will do the most tedious job for you: placing your photos in the right place. Or, if you prefer to work on your photo book by yourself, you can place your photos the way you like one by one.

Furthermore, there are some companies that encourage Instagram users to turn their photos into full-fledged photo books by offering options that are ideal for pictures taken with mobile devices. Blurb, for instance, offers its customers the so-called Instant books, which were deliberately created for social media users: quick creation, one photo per page, pocket size for portability.

Applying the Instagram feeling to your photo books

There are certain editors, however, where you have to use the original photographic material as the basis for your photo book. You shouldn’t think of these photo book editing companies as a waste of time, because many of them have other ways to transfer the Instagram look and feel over to your photo books. All you have to do is upload your pictures and see what kind of adjustment options you have. If plenty, you are in for a treat.

The funny thing is that the creators that allow you to do (almost) Instagram like modifications on your photos are the relatively smaller ones: RitzPix and Collage.com. Although RitzPix uses the complementary solutions of Adobe Creative Cloud and PicMonkey, both this editor and Collage.com are capable of transforming your photos from ordinary pictures to the true Instagram-like masterpieces a user like you would expect. In the non-exhaustive list of opportunities you have the option to add various filters and stickers to your pictures, and to create effects like enhancing the photos, focusing on, blurring outwhitening certain areas, changing the sharpness etc. to your photos.
