While PUBG has already amassed a great number of fans, there were some issues regarding its stability. Many players complained about having difficulties while playing. In response to those complaints, the company released PUBG Lite. It is complete with the full game but has significant reductions in graphic details and other features. The aim of this version is to make the game more playable on low-end computers. It is meant to be played in regions where the game’s minimum specifications may be difficult for average players to obtain.
So far, this version has been released in 15 countries. However, it is only natural that people from other countries want to have access to PUBG Lite, as it consumes less resources. Given the unavailability of the game in most countries, the only way to get it is by using a VPN service. Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Brazil, and Turkey are the countries that can access the game with absolutely no restrictions. For those outside of these areas, the only way for them to have access to PUBG Lite is by using a VPN service.
However, a VPN helps with more than just that. When playing, players have access to each other’s IP address, and consequently, their locations. As a result, foul players can engage in disrespectful activities, such as DDoS attacks. With a VPN, the IP address will be hidden from those users. Obviously, because of the game’s massive success, many players have complained about slow connections and overall difficulties in playing PUBG Lite. Using a VPN can be helpful in those cases, as it can eliminate PING and lagging issues.
Many internet service providers are known to throttle their clients’ connections, especially if they detect that bandwidth usage is too high. For gamers, this means that they will experience slow connections, which will impact their playing abilities. Over 30,000 accounts were banned in January, 2019. Of those accounts, six belonged to professional players. The company proceeded to ban those users after finding out that they were using an illegal program to read game data that revealed their opponent’s whereabouts on the map. This program would show their opponent’s location on a different screen and not interfere with the cheater’s main game screen. Because the software used VPN technology, PUBG took longer to detect it.
Furthermore, players who were aware of other gamers cheating were also banned, as a result of not reporting them. By proceeding to ban those users, PUBG is sending the message that no cheating technology will be tolerated.
