Zoho Projects is an online project management software that comes with an abundance of nifty features. The three main components to Zoho are the task management, progress track and collaboration tools. This is the all in one package for keeping your team on task and efficient. Best of all is that the service works fluently with the other web-based software offered by this company; it will work seamlessly with Zoho Books and Zoho Invoice, which are two complementary services of the same company.
The task management in Zoho Projects is going to keep all your work organized in an easy to access location. The task management features are revolutionary and come with two features that truly stand out. First of all, they have milestones that you can set. These milestones are tremendously useful for tracking the best time to set up client meetings. Clients like to see the progress you are making on a project, and milestones help you determine when the software is in a decent enough state to show it off.
Task lists are the second feature Zoho brings to the table. Task lists allow you to keep your employees on task, and not fumbling around for work to be done. With proper planning, you can have a task list that ensures quick and efficient work by your employees.
No task management software would be complete without ways to track progress on a project, with Zoho Projects it isn’t different. Zoho features Gantt charts that show the progress on various aspects of your project with plenty of advanced display options for you to mess around with. You can see disk usage reports, resource utilization charts and plenty more. Your employees can even track their hours they spend working on the project so you can bill clients according to man hours you put into the project, everything is exported into a nice invoice if you choose to use it.
Then, last but certainly not least, you have an innovative new way to handle bug tracking. If tracking bugs has been a problem in the past, you will love this. Everyone is able to submit bugs with all the information they gathered on the bug. This means they are able to put how they are caused, and what they think the problem is. Administrators can attempt to replicate the bug and push it to open status where your programmers can look at the bug and attempt to fix it. Once they have it fixed they submit it and administrators set the bug status to solved. This is a quick and efficient way to track and fix bugs as they occur and doesn’t take that much time to manage.
Collaboration with Zoho Projects is made easier with its Dropbox integration, as well. Emailing files back and forth is inefficient and sometimes can hang up, leaving you to wonder if your file was sent or not. Dropbox makes it easy to keep files in sync for an entire team, all you need is an internet connection and let the software take care of the rest. Zoho offers a plugin that integrates directly with Dropbox to make it super simple for you to collaborate files with one another.
Zoho Projects is built with software development in mind. You can use the software for pretty much any sort of group project, however, the features lend themselves to programming extremely well. The bug tracker and Dropbox integration shows this, both are particularly useful for programming projects.
The pricing is also quite reasonable. Zoho has a special deal where you are able to create one free project so you can try it out. If you don’t like anything about it, you can simply stop using it. If you are ready to pay some money for it, then you are greeted with quite a few options. Express edition will cost $20 a month for 20 projects and 5GB of storage space but doesn’t have Dropbox integration support. If you want the bug tracker, it will cost an extra $40 a month. Premium is next up at $35 a month for 50 projects and 15 GB of storage space. Premium also comes with Dropbox integration and bug tracker costs and extra $60 a month. Enterprise is for the serious business and costs $80 a month for unlimited projects and 30 GB of storage space. Dropbox integration is included, however, bug tracker will still cost an extra $80 a month.
Zoho Projects is built with ease of use in mind. You won’t need to spend months learning how to use the software, in fact; you will probably understand how the software works the first time you boot it up. Everything is available from the dashboard that you are greeted with once signing in. Most frequently used elements of the software are clearly visible, while charts and other reporting features are the menus to prevent clutter.
Customer support for Zoho Projects is decent. They have an email and form on their website that you can send questions and problems to, and they will respond within 24 hours when it isn’t a holiday. This isn’t exceptional customer service, but they handle problems quickly and efficiently enough. Their customer service representatives are nice enough, so you will have a pleasant experience when you do get a hold of them.
