Link Interactive is a home security company, providing convenient protection that helps homeowners repelling intruders and monitors their properties. A vast array of equipment is available to choose from, thanks to the partnership with Alarm.com. Link Interactive offers all sorts of security equipment, including cameras, home safety detectors, motion sensors and smart home automation devices. All products are made to be easy to install, catering to families with little technical knowledge and handiness. The company is very flexible in terms of security plans, allowing customers to create their own plans. The packages usually include an extra equipment charge depending on the contents, and the lowest monitoring fee is $34.99 for a month.

As a partner of hardware provider Alarm.com, Link Interactive emphasizes on customization by presenting a large collection of licensed security equipment that greatly differs in both price and quality. The products come with one year of warranty, and they can be easily installed without serious tech-savviness.

Link Interactive’s wireless control panel serves as a touchscreen hub through which residents can manually adjust the defense layers, read notifications and weather alerts, or send an emergency call to the central station. The trustworthy unit is licensed from 2GIG technologies, and incorporates two-way voice capabilities so the user has the ability to explain the situation to the monitoring staff on one hand, while on the other hand the operators can scare away intruders through the console.

Motion sensors

Motion sensors are relentlessly watching over your property, detecting anomalies and unauthorized trespassers alike. Door and window sensors hide easily on the frames and produce an alert when someone opens it. They have a practical use too: hiding them in jewelry or candy cabinets will let you know if someone rummaged in them. Link Interactive’s supply contains a motion sensor too, fitted with technology that measures the weight of the targets, preventing cats and dogs from triggering an alarm.

Cameras

Link Interactive offers four types of cameras for those who want to keep an eye on their neighborhood. Sadly, there is only one outdoor camera, but the V721W Outdoor Wireless Camera is fitted with night vision capability, and it records everything in a 40 feet radius, even in the dark. The rest of the cameras are strictly for indoor use only. HD100 Wireless Indoor Camera can be installed easily, and provides a crystal clear picture of the room, serving as an interior guardian or baby watcher. The V520IR Wireless Interior Camera is capable of night vision too, while the V620PT Wireless Interior Pan/Tilt Camera is able to turn 350 degrees, covering even the longest hallways.

Despite the variety in the security equipment, professional monitoring is a decisive part of the company’s offer. Users are able to easily reach out for help from their cellular base console, where the signal will be received by a staff of skilled monitoring agents. Link Interactive operates only UL certified central stations to ensure a fast and competent response. The operators attend a wide variety of tasks too; other than monitoring the security alarms, they are notified by signals of fire and disaster detectors as well. In any form of emergency, they not only contact the residents to make sure they are safe, but also dispatch the local police or rescue personnel.

Gold and Platinum Monitoring

Link Interactive subscribers are offered the chance to choose between two monitoring services. The Gold service is considered to be the standard: it clasps all the situations a regular homeowner can face. Subscribers are entitled to enjoy full coverage, as both the home security and detector units are linked to the central station. This is a great advantage, as most sensors just sound the alarm, but don’t have any means to escalate the arrival of the law enforcement forces. The residents also receive email and text alert to put their minds at ease. The Platinum monitoring plan makes a major advancement: it allows you to create a video surveillance network around the house. This is the only way to see through the camera lenses via live streaming, or re-watch previously recorded footage. The operators are able to use this to their advantage too, identifying the burglars with the help of the cameras.

Home automation

Link Interactive is in partnership with Alarm.com, aiding customers with their stellar smartphone application, available for iOS and Android systems. The biggest advantage of the app is that it ties together all the different features, so users can conveniently operate them from a distance. The app is the main pillar of the home automation: all security footage can be viewed on your phone or tablet, doors can be locked with a simple touch on the screen, the protection system is armed or disarmed without the need to approach the console, and the garage door opens or closes to your wish.

Besides security purposes, the smartphone application knows how to handle the interior appliances too, creating a cozy atmosphere right before you arrive home. After installing the Z-Wave smart thermostat, the unit can be scheduled to change the temperature according the time of the day. Even better, the built-in thermometer allows it to respond to sudden temperature changes. In case you wish to lower your energy bills, consider purchasing several lamp or electric appliance modules. By plugging the devices into these units, they can be remotely turned on or off, preventing them from wasting energy when no one is at home.

Pricing

Purchasing any kind of security package from Link Interactive is a piece of cake. You are able to complete your order entirely online, using the detailed webshop, so you aren’t forced to call the sales department and rely on their words in the decision-making. Link Interactive works with month-to-month agreements, and the professional monitoring service is an integral part of every offer.

Pre-Made Packages

Link Interactive offers three fixed packages. The Basic Fire & Security Package includes the cellular control panel, three wireless sensors, a motion sensor and detector that can be used to sense either fire or freezing. This plan uses the Gold monitoring plan, setting the monthly fee to $34.99, and the equipment costs $134. The Energy Management & Security Package focuses on home automation, providing homeowners two electrical appliance modules and a smart thermostat. Of course all the other units are present here, including the environment detectors. This plan still costs $34.99 per month, and the one-time equipment fee is $335. The Premium Plus Video, Energy & Security plan features the most value. Other than the premium monitoring service, it presents all the previously mentioned benefits coupled with one HD indoor camera and some extra sensors. The video package has an increased monitoring fee of $42.99 for a month, and the equipment charge is $630.

Custom Packages

In case the pre-packaged deals didn’t win you over, seize the opportunity and create your own! Using the company’s website, you are able to carefully evaluate every item on the list, and put in only those that are really needed. There are two monitoring services you can choose from: the Gold plan includes the 24/7 security and life safety monitoring, smart home management and use of the mobile app for $34.99 per month. The Platinum plan shakes up the formula by adding video monitoring to it. Choosing this service entitles users to record, stream and easily access video footage created by the cameras. Going with the Platinum plan has a price of $42.99 per month.

After you determined which monitoring plan is the most fitting, take a glance at the huge supply of equipment to flesh out your home security system. No matter what kinds of hardware you choose, you can expect the base console to be included for free. Adding an extra touchpad comes for $170, and a keypad has a price of $54. Smaller door or window sensors range between $29 and $40, while an image sensor is $140. A glass-break sensor costs $64, a doorbell $32, the panic button is $37, and the interior siren has a price of $49. Cameras start from $160, but the more advanced ones far at $299. You should note that for every four video units, the monthly monitoring fee increases by $8. The cheapest life safety detector has a cost of $49, while a more complex carbon monoxide detector can worth even $98. The home automation modules range between $42 and $229, depending on whether the item in question is a garage sensor or a polished brass smart door lock. Link Interactive even gives a starting discount, reducing the overall price by $194.

Link Interactive earned an A+ from the Better Business Bureau. The company has a very informative website that offers comprehensive depiction of the service. All the presented equipment is categorized and ready to be viewed, showcasing the important details, such as the price, brand, description and setup difficulty. For those who wish to learn more about the functions of the base console or the smartphone app, an interactive demo is available on the website, simulating their operation. A free assessment program is present too, helping people to decide what kind of security service they need the most. The customer service is always ready to answer questions; they can be contacted by phone, via email or just by sending them a quick message in live chat.

Bottom line

The company has a strong tie with Alarm.com, which allows Link Interactive to feature a wide range of equipment for a reasonable price. All home protection sections are covered, starting from small sensors and environment detectors to home automation solutions and video cameras. The monitoring service is reliable, and residents can contact them with all sorts of emergency. Completely custom made packages are attractive selling points too, as people have the chance to organize their plan as they wish. Link Interactive highly suggests self-installation, as professional setup is not available. Although the huge range of security equipment and smartphone application is not the company’s merit, they offer it in an appealing form.

  1. Their customer service is terrible, I had a system that they took over from another company a couple years ago , which was fine with me I had the same service plan. I got a couple letters they sent out recently about  their  company and how the system I have is no longer compatible. I didn’t recognize the name on the letters because that’s not the name I was sending my monthly payments to for monitoring . I thought it was junk mail and thru it away only to find out, after they shut my system  down,  that their  the company  that took over for the one I had. They should have mentioned that in their info don’t you think but they didn’t. So they want you to up grad to their equipment , not only that they double the price on monitoring. Very unprofessional, they had no solution to my problem except buy a new alarm system very unprofessional do you self a favor even if it cost a little more money by alarm from another company. You’ll be glad you did !!

    1. Hi Scott, thanks for your comment. We’re sorry to hear about your experience with Link Interactive. Sometimes emails get directed by mistake to the ‘spam’ and ‘trash’ folders, so we understand why you thought it was junk mail. Nonetheless, we recommend you reach out to the company again (either by phone, email, or live chat) to explain the situation before purchasing a new alarm system. We wish you all the best!
