Frontpoint Security's equipment varies in brand. Depending on the device type, you might get DSC, Interlogix, Yale, or Jasco products.
Frontpoint Security is all about flexibility – it has two customizable pre-built security systems and the option to create your own. Plus, for those who may not feel confident making such an important purchase, there’s the option to chat with a Frontpoint Security sales agent or schedule a call to get the best solution for their needs.
Frontpoint Security has a 3-year warranty for its central units and sensors and a 1-year warranty for its cameras. It’s important to mention that this warranty applies to all its equipment other than screens, wiring, lightbulbs, expendable batteries, and foil tape.
Most Frontpoint Security equipment can be installed without tools or drilling, but not all, so customers may need an expert do it. In these cases, the company has partnered with HelloTech to provide professional installation services.
The price starts at $99 and includes the initial installation, which covers adding sensors, indoor cameras, or replacing central units. If the customer needs outdoor and doorbell cameras and smart locks, the prices will vary and will be added to the initial cost. Plus, there might be additional fees, depending on the customer’s location.

Frontpoint Security offers a range of options to keep you connected to your security system at all times. With an online account, you can check the system’s status, access live or recorded video footage, and set up notifications to receive alerts via SMS or email.
Offering more convenience is Frontpoint Security's mobile app for iOS and Android. It lets you remotely alarm and disarm the system, receive push notifications for potential security issues, check the system status, and access your security camera’s video feed. To enhance your security, you can create virtual boundaries by adding tripwires for pathways or ground zones for larger areas.
As an extra, Frontpoint Security has a modern 7” interactive screen with a kickstand available. Up to four touchscreens can be installed and operate simultaneously within the same household, connecting with the system via Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, the touchscreen doesn’t show video feeds from Frontpoint Security's cameras, but other than that, it offers excellent features:
All Frontpoint Security's systems require a professional monitoring subscription, which means you can’t monitor it yourself. This subscription includes around-the-clock expert monitoring by trained specialists to deal with any security breach. This allows you to relax since you’re not the primary bearer of responsibility in case of emergencies.
Its monitoring services include:
In addition, it lets users add medical information to their account so that when a medical alarm is initiated, first responders are informed of their pre-existing conditions before arriving on the scene. Adding pet information is also possible, allowing them to locate and rescue your animals in an emergency.
Frontpoint Security offers a few smart products to enhance your home’s comfort, convenience, and energy efficiency. These include outdoor smart power plugs and smart door locks for outdoor and indoor use.
Alternatively, Frontpoint Security is compatible with third-party products:
This level of compatibility is excellent for those looking to integrate existing devices with a Frontpoint Security home security system. Therefore, customers can easily build their own smart and fully automated security systems.

Since Frontpoint Security lets clients customize their systems, its pricing isn’t black and white; it changes depending on what products you want. Nonetheless, the company has two pre-made packages. Since most Frontpoint Security products can be installed by yourself, the company doesn’t charge any setup or activation fees. You only pay more if you decide to contract professional installation services.
The cheapest option is the Essential Home Security plan, which costs only $69, including a discount of 82%. It features a central unit, two sensors for doors and windows, and a home defense kit consisting of a yard sign, three window decals, and a door sticker.
For a more comprehensive home security system, Frontpoint Security has the Total Home Security package, which can be purchased with a 69% discount, totaling $329. If none of the packages appeal to you, there’s the option to design your system from scratch.
All systems include a mandatory 36-month monitoring subscription, costing approximately $50 monthly. While this monthly fee is generally higher than other solutions, clients can get some of that money back by registering for the U.S. Security Camera Rebate Program. Those enrolled will receive a rebate per registered camera. New customers get 40% off all additional products added to the packages.
Unfortunately, clients are locked into this monitoring subscription, and early termination of the contract may result in an 80% termination fee for the remainder of the contract. Frontpoint Security offers free shipping on all orders unless you choose overnight or two-day delivery, which costs $50 and $25, respectively.
Finally, the company offers a price-matching guarantee for eligible products via telesales and a 30-day money-back guarantee with free return shipping.

The company has a help center with extensive FAQs for equipment, accounts, and purchases. We found the information useful, even though articles are still available for equipment that’s no longer commercialized. On a positive note, there’s smart assistance chat for help on various subjects like building a system or contacting a Frontpoint Security agent.
Although there is a contact form for reaching the company via email, our experience with this channel could have been better. With this in mind, we recommend using the phone number for inquiries, as it yields the best results. In general, Frontpoint Security's customer support gets mixed reviews. While some customers praise the service’s promptness, courtesy, and efficiency, others mention difficulties in subjects like canceling accounts.
Frontpoint Security is active on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and X for promos and general info about home security systems and their importance.

Never really used the system/service. Tried to cancel the contract but was unable to cancel since they set the cancellation fee almost the same as the remaining balance. After one year contract, still get charged each month. Think carefully before getting into a contract that you will not be able to cancel even if you don’t use the service.
September 2017
In November of 2014 I contacted Frontpoint and explained to them that we were building a downstairs apartment in our home, and that I was interested in opening an account. I explained to the salesman [name redacted] that we were at least a year away from being ready to actually install the system, but that I wanted to have the equipment on hand. As a condition of the sale, it was agreed between [name redacted] and myself that we would not be billed until the system went live. In spite of this, we started seeing monthly charges debited from our credit card. We received the alarm system, and in late 2015 our local police station shut, so the Frontpoint system was no longer viable for us. I called Frontpoint and explained the situation, and they agreed to take back the alarm system. They never provided us any service. Today I spoke with [name redacted] at Frontpoint, and he has refused to refund any of the almost $1000 they debited from our credit card. We are old and we really need that money. We were defrauded.
