ADT Systems Now Support Amazon’s Virtual Assistant

Changes on the horizon of home security! It seems that the largest companies in the industry are shaking up the world of security and home automation with brand new innovations, pushing the boundaries of smart technology. While Alarm.com focuses on enhancing its alarm systems with autonomous drones, ADT and Amazon announced a partnership at CES 2017 that brings voice controls to your home security system. They added this much anticipated spin to smart technology by integrating the Alexa voice service into the renowned alarm company’s products. From now on, homeowners can set up “skills” for Alexa regarding home automation, such as arming/disarming the system or turning up the intelligent thermostat.

We’ve continuously reported on the ease of using a smartphone to manage your home’s defenses, closing the garage door and scheduling the lights with simple taps on the screen. But giving verbal commands directly to your alarm is undoubtedly even more convenient. ADT strongly believes that their alliance with Amazon brings value to their customer’s life. With their Pulse system now actively supporting the Alexa voice service, homeowners are finally able to access the smart home features hands-free. Amazon’s vice president Mike George reported that smart home skills were already on top of the most used sets in Alexa’s list, thus forming a partnership with a home security company to officially add the voice control to the systems came as a natural step.
