Guests are then asked to enter this password in order to access the content on your site. Just make sure this information is shared with them in a private message or email.

Search engine exclusion

A more sophisticated method for hiding your wedding website is to exclude it from search engines like Google and Bing. In other words, even if someone types in specific keywords (the couple’s name or the wedding location, for example) your site won’t appear among the search results. This is the most diplomatic way of turning your site incognito. Unfortunately, not every wedding site builder offers SEO exclusion, while some hide the feature behind paywalls. Wix is a good example: they turn search engine visibility on by default, but in the options you can switch it off for free.

Restricted guest access

Another crafty way to create some privacy is to enable custom guest access. Sites, such as Appy Couple, allow users to customize guest access depending on their RSVP answer. Those who haven’t replied can only access the first half of the site, but sending a positive answer then unlocks pages about the ceremony, gift registry, travel and accommodation details and more.
