Wedding Jojo is a wedding site provider company run by a small group of dedicated people from Chicago. They present you a way to create a wedding website for yourself where you can share all the important information with the guests. You can forget the tiring process of writing and signing an invitation for all those people you want to celebrate your wedding with. Now all you need to do is email them the link, and they’ll know everything. They can even send their RSVP and sign your guestbook online. Wedding Jojo made sure that their building interface is user-friendly, and doesn’t require actual programming knowledge. The small company provides a modest but solid service, and you are even gladdened with a free account. This free version has limited access to the customization tools and features, but you can submit your work without paying anything. Naturally, you can update anytime, with a premium service that charges you $14.99 per month.

The ability to create a site showcasing your lovey-dovey photos and a handful of information related to the groom and the bride is very appealing for most couples. This is also a comprehensible way for guests to learn more about the wedding itself. For starters, you can create a welcome page that points towards the other menus. The system pre-created some of these for you, covering the possible events, the registry, the relatives and friends, traveling information and your photo gallery. The latter includes one album for free, though there is no option for Instagram or any other social media integration. Of course, you can rearrange these topics or add new ones. Editing and managing the drafting of your site is quite easy, and you can always take a peek at the preview to check on you progress. Sadly the available tools are fairly limited. You cannot switch the placement of the info boxes, and only get some basic options to change the letter fonts and sizes. And for this reason the end result may look a bit unpolished.

Extra features

Wedding Jojo desperately needs some cool additions to perk up the site and give it some personality. There are no video galleries, RSVP notifications or music playlist, which would make a difference with the other wedding site builders out there. You can have a custom domain if you become a premium member, and the lifted status unlocks the registry setting and the blog section for you. The latter might be best way to enchant your guests.

A good wedding site provider caters to the old and new generations alike. With mobile phones being capable of almost anything a desktop PC could do, the total lack of smartphone support with Wedding Jojo is incomprehensible. The missing of an app that lets you build your wedding site on the go is one thing, as it’s still a rare sight to have an app like this. However, a mobile-friendly version of the website editor is also absent, which is quite baffling. You are able to visit the builder or the wedding website in question from your mobile, but the layout is totally unfitting for smaller screens, and the process requires a lot of zooming a swiping. We highly recommend only accessing the builder from your laptop or desktop computer.

Setup

Starting with Wedding Jojo is quite an easy task, since all you need to do is provide some basic details, like an email address, and a domain for your future site. You also need to decide right off the bat whether you want a free or premium account. We advise you to roll with the free one first, as you can still upgrade later on. After finishing the registration, you can immediately start working on your wedding site immediately. The editing interface is a bit unambitious and highly resembles the old-school drafting layouts. Still, after you learn to use the building tool, things become easy quite quickly. On the right side you see the available section types (travel, family, photos etc.) that are displayed on your site’s main page. Editing these is very uncomplicated, and the overall results are conclusive and very comprehensible, so your wedding invitation won’t feel dragged out.

Wedding Jojo is a bit short on design templates, as they only offer 11. This wouldn’t be that much of a problem, but most of them are locked for premium users. With the free play you only have access to the standard design type. Luckily, they make up for the restricted selection with the optional design customization feature. You can either choose between the pre-made colors palettes, or create your own, changing the background, the text colors, etc. This is the part where you can really dive deep, and give some personality to your wedding site to match the atmosphere of the wedding itself. As for the premium designs, they shake up the formula a bit, like placing the menus in a different way, or rearranging the info on the main page.

Pricing

The price tag on the building tool is always a crucial part when choosing a provider, as the couple already spent a lot for the wedding preparations. Wedding Jojo is fairly generous on this matter, as they don’t force their paying content on you. There are two account types: the Taster (free) and Full Slice (premium). The complementary profile comes at the expense of some restrictions though, as you have only one design type, the photo gallery is limited, and you are forced to use the WeddingJojo.com domain. Committing yourself for the premium plan costs you $14.99 each month, but in exchange you are gifted with all the customization tools, the storage options are wider, not to mention you also receive access to your very own blog section where you can share your thoughts. Premium users are higher on the customer support hierarchy, and they are entitled to use the extra RSVP features, like the guestbook.

A common trend among personalized wedding site providers is that they only bring you the bare minimum when it comes to troubleshooting. Usually they provide you an email address, and that’s all: no live chat, no phone number, they don’t even dare to claime that their customer center is available 24/7. Wedding Jojo is also among these trend-followers, but their small company size may work for their advantage this time, since they don’t outsource anything, and answer emails more often. They also have a blog section that is definitely worthy of your attention, as it’s full of helpful articles for budget-conscious couples.

Bottom Line

At first, we sympathized with Wedding Jojo, since they are a small but enthusiastic team of people eager to make your wedding preparations even easier. They also provide a free account, an act of true generosity. We also believe that despite the unpolished design, it’s pretty easy to draft your very own page. However, small nuisances started to pile up pretty quickly. First of all, there are very few customization tools that could really differentiate one template from another. There is a shortage of designs as well, and they are only available for premium users. We missed some extra features that could add some spin to our site, like a video gallery, quizzes or a music playlist. Wedding Jojo is also unfitting for smartphone users, because they lack even a mobile-friendly website. All in all, we salute their effort, but the service quality is a bit behind the competition.
