Sunflower Labs Combines Smart Lights With Home Security Drones

Sunflower Labs Combines Smart Lights With Home Security Drones

By Tamás Ő.Tamás Ő. Verified by Sander D.Sander D. Last updated: July 22, 2024 (0)

Being the commander of a squadron of pilots is a dream many will have fantasized about. With just a word and your soldiers swarm out in their aircraft, seeking their prey. Well, your vision can be realized in a less warmongering manner by Sunflower Labs. The company designed a home security system that uses solar-powered garden lights to detect approaching burglars. And when the interlopers are within range, a drone camera is automatically dispatched. Criminals will have one hell of a surprise seeing a gyrocopter floating above their heads even before they could step off the lawn…

Sunflower smart light: your stylish watcher

The smart lights are the front line scouts of the system. At first glance these are no more than fancy garden lights, yet each device houses more than 20 sensors and is capable of 360-degrees of movement detection. Just for comparison, other motion-activated lights sport only a couple of sensors. And that’s not the only reason why Sunflower’s device is superior either, it also contains sensors that not only detect movement, but sound and vibration as well. The device evaluates all the information in order to filter out false intrusions such as insects or trees waving in the wind. Your purchase comes with a set of four smart lights you can effortlessly put down in tactical points in your garden. The lights also communicate with the main hub to predict weather effects. And if you are hosting a lavish party, just switch to ambiance light mode as a means of setting the right mood.

Sunflower flying camera: your aerial guardian

The flying drone – known as the Sunflower Flying Camera – is a gyrocopter fitted with differential GPS that allows it to autonomously navigate to the selected destination. You don’t need to worry about piloting it, although you can pinpoint a custom location on your smartphone. When the smart light detects a burglar, you receive a notification and may decide to send out the drone to investigate. Your mechanical guardian carries a gimbaled high-resolution camera that has night vision and infrared modes, meaning the suspect is identified even during a pitch-black night.

The creators designed the drone with ‘set and forget’ mentality: the drone not only flies itself but, upon returning, it lands on a special pad. This ‘home base’ is responsible for charging the gyrocopter’s batteries and protecting it from weather effects.

Still under testing

Don’t get too excited though, as the Sunflower home security drone system is still in beta testing. Despite earlier supporters being allowed to participate in the process, pre-ordering is unavailable at the moment. The project is so far from being realized that the developers still haven’t decided on the price. Still, the fact that a drone-focused guarding system has been successfully developed and is now within arm’s reach shines new hope on home security. We at Best Reviews strongly believe that people benefit from innovative solutions like this when it comes to protecting their property. With voice-controlled alarms, camera-equipped roombots and flying drones, the future looks definitely safer.
