As an all-in-one business management solution, Striven offers much more than online accounting. The platform also covers CRM, HR, and recruitment through three different portals, where all information is agglomerated in one place.

Unfortunately, the amount of data makes the interface overwhelming despite its clean design. Even so, we appreciate that Striven provides some customization to allow users to change their main dashboard as they see fit. It’s possible to remove, add, or rearrange the many widgets available. Additionally, there are unique dashboards for all the categories included in this software, and there’s the option to create customized ones.

Invoicing

Striven provides all the necessary invoicing features to make sure your business looks professional without requiring too much effort or time. The online accounting software comes with custom invoicing templates and allows for simple invoicing due to its self-service portals.

We found it pretty useful that the platform comes with built-in inventory management and integration. Real-time inventory tracking guarantees that users always know their stock levels to ensure they never lose business due to one of their products being out of stock.

Invoicing generation is available for items like time, expenses, and charges. The best part is that it’s possible to set recurring transactions so you don’t have to create the same invoice over and over again.

More importantly, Striven is built to handle transactions in different currencies and different tax rates, exemptions, and computations to remove the need for manual calculations completely.

Self-service portals

Striven provides a comprehensive experience through its self-service portals for customers, vendors, and candidates. They provide 24/7 access to the platform and its communication channels to ensure convenient and effective collaboration.

The customer portal allows clients to approve contracts, pay invoices, submit tasks, see their work history, and even generate 1099 forms. Meanwhile, the vendors portal is the perfect place to quickly search for sellers based on your criteria, allow contract-approved purchase orders, and send PO requests. Vendors themselves can use this platform to submit bills directly to you, ensuring there’s a straightforward line of communication.

Striven goes a step further with its candidate portal, though. Perfect for streamlining talent acquisition, it centralizes the recruiting process by providing a unified place for job posting creation, candidates’ online application, setup of recruitment stages, and communication automation.

Advanced reporting

With so much going on within Striven, the straightforward yet comprehensive reporting is a much-needed addition to the software. There are seven categories to choose from, making it simple to put your head around all the information. From P&L to profitability and balance sheets, relevant financial documentation is just one click away.

Although users can leave up to the software the creation of these reports automatically, some of them can be customizable, and it’s surprising how deep you can dig into each transaction. Reports can also be exported in CSV, XLSX, or PDF, and some include an API for custom integration with other software and systems.

All-in-one platform

Striven’s accounting tools are already worth our praise, but the software goes way beyond that. From built-in CRM to HR-dedicated features, this one-stop shop really has it all.

However, the comprehensiveness of all the tools provided is what really surprised us. Most platforms tend to have a core product and then provide simple versions of other types of software built-in. Not Striven, though.

On the one hand, HR professionals are going to love Striven’s ATS capabilities and unified recruiting process. On the other hand, sales agents will be grateful for such an easy way to assess sales probability and profitability throughout the entire sales funnel.

Striven doesn’t offer a mobile app, although users can still access the web platform on their smartphones via any browser. Unfortunately, the design looks unintuitive and outdated on the smaller screen. Still, we were able to perform all the same tasks we do on a computer, though it took longer.

Even though Striven provides most of the tools you need to run the daily operations of a business, the company knows that you may already have your favorites. That’s why it integrates with payment gateways like Authorize.net. Additionally, the software integrates with ShipStation, Gmail, Twilio, Google and Microsoft Calendars, and Email Relay.

Despite having a limited list of integrations, Striven provides an API for custom integrations with your system.

Unlike many in the industry, Striven‘s pricing structure is simple, with only two options. The cheapest plan is Standard at $35 per user per month, which includes everything a small or medium-sized business needs. Unfortunately, businesses with less than five users have to fork out an additional $25 per person.

At $70 per user per month, Enterprise increases the capabilities of the platform, with a higher number of actions for billing, invoicing, sale receipts, custom fields, and asset types. For example, it boosts the 20 purchase orders to 500 and the number of API calls per minute from 100 to 500.

Furthermore, the customer, vendor, and career portals are free for up to 100 users per portal. Adding 400 extra users costs $99, and going for an unlimited number of users is $499.

Striven’s customer support is outstanding. In addition to providing support via phone, contact form, and live chat, the company even lets you schedule a 15-minute session with its support team.
