If there were an award for the most catastrophic, negligent, and downright disgraceful company in existence, SMTP.com would win it hands down. This company is an absolute disaster, a black hole of incompetence and deceit that has cost me more time, money, and sanity than I ever thought possible. Where do I even begin? Let’s start with their supposed “email service,” which in reality is nothing more than a cruel joke. Imagine a service designed to send emails—emails that are critical for your business—only to find out that SMTP.com can’t even manage this most basic task. Their servers are a disgrace, regularly experiencing massive delays that can stretch on for hours, rendering your business communications completely useless. Emails are sent out sporadically at best, making this company a ticking time bomb waiting to obliterate your business. But the horror doesn’t stop there. The website and portal they force you to use is an absolute nightmare. It’s plagued with so many bugs, errors, and glitches that it’s barely functional. Trying to navigate this dumpster fire of a website is like walking through a field of landmines, each step potentially locking you out of your account for months at a time—yes, you read that right. I’ve been locked out of my account multiple times, sometimes for months, and their so-called “support” is a complete joke. Good luck getting any help; you’re more likely to win the lottery than get a competent response from their team. And now, the pièce de résistance: their shady, underhanded billing practices. Without any notice or confirmation, they unilaterally upgraded my account and started charging me over $600 a month. This is daylight robbery, pure and simple. When I discovered this fraudulent charge and tried to cancel my account in March 2024, I was met with radio silence for an entire month. I had to hound them with seven follow-up emails just to get a response, and when they finally bothered to reply, they hit me with their absurd “30-day notice” policy. Let’s get something straight here—this company took over 30 days to even acknowledge my cancellation request, and then had the audacity to refuse immediate cancellation, pushing it back another month. And if that wasn’t enough, they continued to charge me for months afterward, despite my repeated attempts to stop the service. Here we are in August, and they are still draining my account, using the same pathetic excuse about their 30-day notice. SMTP.com is nothing short of a scam, a greedy, incompetent mess of a company that should be shut down for its blatant disregard for customers. Their entire operation is built on lies, broken promises, and a complete lack of accountability. They are not just a terrible company—they are a dangerous one, a liability that will destroy your business from the inside out. If you value your business, your time, and your money, stay as far away from SMTP.com as you possibly can. This company is a walking disaster, a stain on the industry, and an insult to anyone who dares to trust them with their business communications. Avoid them like the plague, because once you’re entangled in their web of incompetence, you’ll be lucky to escape with even a shred of your sanity intact.
