Whether the person is an actual representative of the company or a con artist, you should never-ever give in and accept the terms on the spot. Just think about it: big-name companies have other means to let customers know about special deals and discounts. Relying only on door-to-door salesmen to spread the news works against their best interest. Another quick way to debunk scammers before they could get inside the house is to ask for an ID card. Perhaps make a quick call to the company to check whether they actually sell the given service.
We cannot stress enough how important is to thoroughly read the contract, and let it sink in before making a decision. Details such as the length of the subscription, the terms of cancellation and the additional fees must be fully comprehended before opting for the service. Otherwise you could also find yourself in a four-year long commitment that doesn’t benefit you in any way. You should also do a deep background check on the company background. No, don’t just look at the BBB score! Read some professional reviews to discover what kind of experience other customers had.
