If you are running a small business you need to find an effective way to communicate with your customers. One technique many small business owners employ is email marketing. Two programs to use for this task are Benchmark Email and Constant Contact. Both allow you to start a mailing list in which you can inform your customers of new products or services you are trying to sell them. Not sure which one of the two you should choose? Let’s see how the two differentiate from each other and what their advantages and disadvantages are.

Take full advantage of benchmark email

Benchmark Email is the ideal choice if you want to have regular email contact with customers, other businesses or both. If you choose this program you have the option of sending out a monthly newsletter and/or sending emails to individuals. One service offered is video email marketing. This will give your business an edge over businesses that only send out emails. Video email is an excellent way to impress your customers.

Overview comparison for Benchmark Email, Constant Contact

When it comes to email list management, Benchmark Email can be integrated with software such as WordPress, Google Analytics and SalesForce. One popular program that cannot be integrated with Benchmark is Joomla. If you want to be able to integrate your email management program with Joomla you will want to use Constant Contact. Using Benchmark Email you can maintain multiple email lists and design templates for your newsletters. It also allows you to create sign-up forms that your customers can use to sign up for your newsletters and your updates on Facebook and Twitter. There is a Facebook app available for Benchmark Email users as well.

With Benchmark Email you can conduct surveys and polls to gather information and opinions from your customers. You can archive all your emails using this program and you will be able to insert attachments into any newsletter you send out. Benchmark offers you image hosting up to 10MB for free.

Compelling reasons to use constant contact

Constant Contact provides more support than Benchmark Email does. With Constant Contact you can attend face-to-face seminars organized by the email marketing experts at Constant Contact to help you get the most out of the program. Unlike Benchmark Email, Constant Contact does not support video emails. In addition, Constant Contact can be integrated with the same programs as Benchmark, except for WordPress. It also does not support social network sign up for your customers.

The last thing to consider is the cost of each program. Prices vary depending on what you get, but both programs come with a free trial period. Benchmark offers a 30-day free trial while Constant Contact offers a 60-day free trial.
