Canada-based PaymentEvolution offers three pricing plans with a 15-day risk-free trial: one for up to 5 employees is free of charge – aside from a single $55 setup fee -, Business for up to 25 employees is $22 per month on annual billing without setup fee, while Business+ from 26 employees is $1.50 per employee per month also without setup fee. With this payroll software you can manage the payroll of salary- or time-based employees, create various reports, employee tax forms, Records of Employment, and send employee payments directly to bank accounts.

Paid plans are also capable of integrating with multiple software – including Xero, FreshBooks, Kashoo and QuickBooks Online -, customize deductions, import employee info and timesheets, and print checks for manual payments.

Gusto

Gusto, which was once known as ZenPayroll, allows integration with all of the best accounting solutions, namely Xero, FreshBooks and QuickBooks Online. With this payroll software, new hires are automatically reported to the government, employees can access their paystubs and W-2s even after they leave, and 1099s are auto-created and automatically sent to your contractors. You can also set Gusto to automatically do the whole payroll process each pay period and calculate, pay and file your payroll taxes as well.

The software can handle multiple pay schedules, pay rates and time-off requests, easily syncs with your personal calendars, lets you choose between payment by direct deposit or check, and allows you to pay reimbursements at the same time the payroll runs.
