Summer Bonanza with HideMyAss and Chilling Discounts

Summer Bonanza with HideMyAss and Chilling Discounts

By Tamás Ő.Tamás Ő. Verified by Sander D.Sander D. Last updated: July 23, 2024 (0)

The summer of 2016 is here, and oh boy, there is one action packed summer before us. First the UEFA Champions League, then the Rio Olympic Games. It’s good to know that VPN providers are just as excited and prepared as we are: HideMyAss, one of our long standing champions of privacy and online anonymity, went into full banzai mode and they celebrate the upcoming sport event – as well as the summer – with huge discounts on their prices. The cool freshness of updates doesn’t stop there, as they also upgraded their network with some European servers, and they brought some amazing facts about our Digital Life Spectrum.

Prices below sub-zero

The summer is the season of rest, relaxation, holidays and travelling. Naturally you take your laptop, smartphone and other smart devices with you, as nowadays no self-respecting homo sapiens could exist without technology. Still, a foreign country’s unprotected Wi-Fi spot could pose some serious threat at your privacy. If you wish to avoid a serious financial fraud or a hacked social media account, you better arm yourself with a VPN. HideMyAss is especially an attractive choice, now that their prices dropped below sub-zero. The company modified its prices to better fit the wallet of summer tourists: the price of the month-to-month price was lowered from $11.52 to $9.99 per month, the semi-annual plan (labeled “Half-Ass” by the company), is now $6.66 per month instead of $8.33, and the annual plan (called “Smart-Ass”) can be yours for only $4.99 per month. A grand discount, compared to the original $6.55. All these price tags are meant in a “per month” fashion. With these chilling new prices you can save up to 55% compared to the normal pricing of HMA’s VPN.

New servers, new client

HideMyAss was a busy little bee along its servers as well. For the summer heat, they prepared 7 new servers in European countries. There are two in Belgium and Finland and one new addition in Spain, France and Netherlands. This is only the beginning, since the company recently renewed their downloadable client. The third version (V3) is the fruit of a thorough survey on customer satisfaction. The client sports such new features as the slick and colorful new interface, the ability to mark servers as favorites, and the network list was also revamped. And the best thing is that the client works seamlessly on tablets and smartphones.

Digital life spectrum

Last but not least, we would like to comment on a recent survey conducted by the request of HideMyAss. Although we’ve already done a detailed presentation about the study, we would like to bring it up again, as the study is not only informative about people’s habits when it comes to sharing personal information without being protected, but you can also learn who is your spiritual celeb guide according to your Digital Life Spectrum.
