tigerVPN is a Slovakia based VPN company that has been running in the business since 2011. Their main strength is the extensive list of countries you can connect to, along with a good log policy. Their headquarters are in Bratislava, and the entire staff works there, even inviting people to give them a visit if they are around. We must also highlight their good speeds: long distance connections are successful in all corners of the globe, and with reliable connections comes little speed reduction, even though we tested in a 256 bit encrypted OpenVPN environment. Another interesting solution of theirs is that while you have only one device to connect with by default, you have the opportunity to buy additional simultaneous connections. Mobile and tablets are currently still somewhat of a blind spot for tigerVPN with only an app for Android users and an auto configuration tool for iOS devices, though an iOS app is on the horizon. A free trial isn't on the table with the growling tigers, but a 3-day money back guarantee provides the opportunity to try their service.

Internetz.me is a German company based in Berlin that offers a variety of services including web hosting and more hardcore DDoS attack protection services, specialties for which they developed a range of technologies also used in their VPN service. They are indeed a decent choice, with their greatest strength being the extra and utility services they provide. With your purchase for example, you get 10GBs worth of RAID 1 storage. Squid Proxy and Dante Socks protocols are also supported. We also have to note that Internetz.me is also an XMPP provider next to offering VPN. We ...

Easy Hide IP is a London-based VPN provider operated by Websecure Ltd. Active since 2009, their main trait is free will over choosing between their standard VPN service and a faster UDP-based connection. This is of course offered for free and within the same client's or application's environment, on the same screen. This is a warmly welcomed option; however because of this choice Easy Hide IP's service is a double-edged USB sword. The VPN side of their connections is only available on PPTP privacy protocols, which is the least safe in use these days. UDP – while faster – is also less safe compared to an OpenVPN or L2TP-type connection. Luckily though, essentially all other aspects of Easy Hide IP are excellent. With a globalized theme and state of mind, the company makes an effort to bring VPN around the planet. They provide access across 17 countries and over 60 servers. Easy Hide IP specializes in long-term investments, offering a one-year and two-year plan, apart from the one-month subscription.

SlickVPN is an up and coming US-based VPN provider that has been achieving good success in a short amount of time. There is ample amount of proof for this: SlickVPN managed to secure global presence with surprising quickness. With 151 servers across 46 countries, they have really stepped on the pedal. Several factors contribute towards their steady rise. Usually, longer-term refund policies come with cruel restrictions, but the more lenient rules of SlickVPN definitely benefit them. Another appealing aspect of their service is that connections naturally come in either OpenVPN or IPSec, depending on your device. These offer a good mix of speed and safety. Through the means of offering a free proxy for anonymous browsing, SlickVPN gives new users a warm welcome. Though a free trial isn't available, the company's unique pricing structure allowing you to order different blocks of four to twenty days for as low as $0.75 per day does make it easy to try the service.

GhostPath is a Waycross, Georgia based company that focuses solely on providing VPN services. Founded in 2012, they have come far in a short amount of time. It is true that their service has some aftertaste of it being optimized mainly for US residents, but we can also say that there is a generalized undertone present and thus GhostPath is suitable for people from all over the world. A great testament to this is that they offer connections across 46 locations and 143 servers, which are well distributed geographically. What delivers their ghastly punch is their great networking options.

With unlimited simultaneous connections and features automatically included such as their DNS-Leak Protection and Automatic IP address switching, or unblocking many streaming sites you can indeed go through some walls, hauntingly – the walls of data retention laws. With an interesting pricing structure in place offering VPN accounts for as little as a week, GhostPath certainly knows how to make itself an interesting contestant.

Founded in 2008, VPN company Perfect Privacy is the result of an international cooperation, with headquarters or significant places of control residing in Switzerland and Panama. They also have offices in New Zealand and Latvia. These countries are advantageous when starting a VPN business, as they are not burdened by the EU's or the US' data retention laws. Perfect Privacy offers connections across 40 servers located around the globe in 25 different countries. They develop their software-solutions themselves, so it is worth noting which protocols they work with. For encryption, they are well-versed in today's standards and thus use OpenVPN, SSH and IPSec, along with PPTP. Their greatest strengths include a very lenient log policy with almost nothing logged on their side which, combined with the list of rare features, is a rare and welcomed packaged. Customizable port forwarding, two types of proxy to use, cascading – which is continuously swapping connections across multiple servers – and even DNS Leak protection are built-in sides of Perfect Privacy's facets.

Astrill is a VPN service founded in 2009. Originating from Australia, they have since relocated themselves to the Republic of Seychelles. They are well-versed in speaking to casual users the most; the testament to this is their wide selection of customizable features, with most of them aimed at Windows users and video and music streaming. Their client allows the downloading of the latter two and facilitates better buffering while blocking ads. Next to these there is also a focus on unique security solutions, as two of their three protocols are theirs only: OpenWeb and StealthVPN. They do indeed produce fruitful results, as their speeds are good and connections are stable. The company also caters to businesses with customizable business VPN plans, complete with a control panel to manage the VPN accounts of your different employees. To complete the round-up, Astrill also provides P2P support, with BitTorrent heavily favored. They offer connection in 55 countries across 238 servers, which is a sizeable number.
