Easy Hide IP is a London-based VPN provider operated by Websecure Ltd. Active since 2009, their main trait is free will over choosing between their standard VPN service and a faster UDP-based connection. This is of course offered for free and within the same client’s or application’s environment, on the same screen. This is a warmly welcomed option; however because of this choice Easy Hide IP’s service is a double-edged USB sword. The VPN side of their connections is only available on PPTP privacy protocols, which is the least safe in use these days. UDP – while faster – is also less safe compared to an OpenVPN or L2TP-type connection. Luckily though, essentially all other aspects of Easy Hide IP are excellent. With a globalized theme and state of mind, the company makes an effort to bring VPN around the planet. They provide access across 17 countries and over 60 servers. Easy Hide IP specializes in long-term investments, offering a one-year and two-year plan, apart from the one-month subscription.
Easy Hide IP excels at providing a complete service, full of features. This is especially true for their Windows client: nearly all needed information is immediately displayed. There is a host of IP addresses to choose from in the case of each server. This makes the overall number of gateways a couple of hundred, and they are indeed needed. The reason behind this is that the “Classic” type of connection is actually an UDP-type one. Because UDP is generally less reliable but faster, Easy Hide IP built in an IP swapping protocol into the client. This lets you select the frequency of your computer changing IP addresses, anywhere from 1 minute to 12 hours, or even the possibility of disabling it altogether. In this Classic mode, IP addresses can even be changed for browsers individually. The client also provides features like adding certain servers into your favorites, even if they are situated in the same country – it is the address that matters. There were some interesting connection phenomena though: the St. Petersburg connection was redirected to Moscow during speed tests.
The official website makes it easy to find your way around and get your VPN service setup; information is well-structured, and customer support is not available from one specific page only. Furthermore, the device you use is automatically detected, and the “download” page automatically displays the client or manual setup guide that is appropriate for your device. Similarly to all key information, Facebook and Twitter pages are also directly accessible from the main page.
Network options are mixed. On the one hand, there is the server and location selection. The thing to highlight here is that you can connect directly to individual IP addresses, greatly increasing your options to get lost on the internet. If you are using a PC, you can individually select your browsers to have their IP addresses changed in the client. Basically anything that has something to do with the Windows client is exceptionally good. On the other hand, other platforms are less supported; and even on PC, speeds are not the best.
PPTP and UDP safety protocols are offered. PPTP is generally safer, though it is still the least reliable one: a maximum of 128 bits of encryption, less build-in protection. OpenVPN or L2TP are more widespread and safer, and they are sorely missed. UDP excels in speed: this setting is ideal for streaming or playing video games. However, this solution offers even less protection than PPTP.
Honesty is on their side; Easy Hide IP advertises their pricing models with 10 mb/s speeds and they definitely succeed in holding up to this end of the bargain. Even better, connections that are further away do not seem to suffer as much – a steady island in the slightly muddy terrain. With 60 servers placed in 17 countries worldwide and a total of 1,000 IP addresses, Easy Hide IP’s server network has rather modest proportions. We would like to see Easy Hide IP increase the pace at which they’re adding additional server options to do away with the slow speeds.
Easy Hide IP collects a range of information. Your original location – from where you connect – is stored; you don’t have to dig through the privacy policy to see this, your location’s appropriate flag is always displayed on the client’s main screen, for example. If you start a trial, your e-mail address is also collected. Strangely enough, Easy Hide IP uses the address to send you occasional market research mails. Since these are rare, we have not had an opportunity to experience them. Promotional content is also included in these mails; unlike other registration processes, these are automatic and you express your consent by the registration act itself.
Easy Hide IP also uses traffic log cookies to identify which websites you use while connecting. Of course cookies can be disabled on any browser, but this means that this company tends to stray away from providing complete anonymity. Furthermore, the UDP part of service uses, we quote “cryptographic algorithms which may be regulated (e.g., subject to export/import control regulations) or illegal in some countries”. Easy Hide IP emphasizes that you use their product partially at your own risk. While we would like to think that these terms are directed towards unfair users, we had to deduce that some harm, like the absence of complete anonymity places a weight on the shoulder of the casual user.
As spectacular the Windows client is, it is the only one that is actually supported this way: in the relatively sizeable list of devices that can use Easy Hide IP, Windows 8, 7, Vista and XP are the ones coming with the above high quality unified application. This indicates that the company focuses on the PC market above others. In terms of other operating systems, Ubuntu Linux and Mac OSX are the ones with support. Connection setup for both of them is helped by a video guide, available on the official website. The mobile devices’ list is not a particularly extensive one. Android machines and iOS (iPad, iPhone) are the only ones available – all of them require manual setup. The same kind of video guides with the same informative tone should be your aid while setting up your VPN connection.
As mentioned in the introduction, Easy Hide IP is determined to bring long-term service to customers. To really show the skin of their teeth in this matter, prices are just great: even though the 10 mb/s connection is a bit slim, you still get unlimited bandwidth, access to all servers and all IP addresses, unlimited e-mail support and a 3-day money back guarantee. For one month, the cost is $4.95 with an additional feature: you can cancel your subscription at any time. If you decide to invest for a year, you will need to complete a one-time payment of $29.95. This means a monthly $2.49 – already a very cheap offer; even the better biannual can cost more elsewhere. And finally, if you opt for a 2-year investment, your fee would be a total of $49.95, easily less than other 12-month offers on the market. Its monthly cost is only $2.08 – equal to buying a small pack of AAA batteries. Easy Hide IP’s free trial is valid for 3 days and is in no way different from any paid service; it lets you experience the full product.
Payment options are limited. Next to MasterCard and Visa, only PayPal is accepted. Furthermore, payments must be made via ShareIT or Perfect Money. Bitcoin is also not accepted. You will get a license key with every purchase. However, if you paid with eCheck, we recommend you contact support with this information, as they will provide a demo license until your transfer is processed.
Easy Hide IP’s preferred form of contact is e-mail. With every purchase you become eligible for 24/7 e-mail support. Living up to this claim, service is well-organized. Sending a ticket in is available at the bottom of multiple pages, with the additional opportunity to attach pictures and files with seemingly no restriction to the extension of the file. Response times were also favorable: our two separate tries from private e-mail addresses resulted in a 53 minute, and a 1 hours 26 minute waiting time, respectively. We were satisfied with the overall quality of the e-mail customer service. Next to this, Easy Hide IP runs a blog and a Facebook page, both with significant activity and up-to-date news. There is no live chat option available though; this might be missed by some people.
There is a general positive to appeal to the overall Easy Hide IP experience. Their unique looks – at least among VPN providers – and mood does a good job at trying to cover up some mistakes with a shroud. Sadly, we cannot unnotice the stable but slow-ish connection speeds, few payment options, or the privacy shenanigans. Easy Hide IP should expand it VPN network further if it wants to fully live up to its potential, and would benefit from having better support for mobile VPN usage through native applications. To fit their underlying theme, prices are just stellar. But if our planet earth had as much protection from solar radiation as Easy Hide IP’s PPTP and UDP solutions, things might be just a little hotter around here.

Used Easy Hide VPN for 3yrs. I found customer service prompt and v helpful but recently have become concerned that AVG constantly reminds me that my IP address is readily visible. Whilst I can readily change it I am not sure that should be the case. I find that if I use the automatically variable IP setting then anything I am in the process of downloading shuts down.
Waste of money trial version keep freezing and lower speed on my computer
this software really doesn’t help me at all slow freezing all time i ask them to cancel my account in 5 days but no respond customer service sucks
Be aware from this website now they have good trick for customer i did purchase month only and i told them do not recurring payment monthly they do not listen to me before they do cancel now they make t difficult you have to go to paypal to cancel and paypal does not have option to cancel they keep pay me in 3 month and my account is close from 2 month ago also the new version keep freezing and didnt hide the ip at all do not trust them at all fraud company
Probably the WORST customer service that I have EVER experienced. I could not even get out the gate with these people. Antony of tech support was a total smartass. I hope this company fails in their business as they certainly deserve it.
This doesnt do what it says on the tin, doesn’t hide your IP address because once you are using it and try and do a dns leak test your details are available. Avoid and use something like torguard
logs logs logs. these characters keep activity logs. WHATS THE POINT OF USING THEIR SERVICE? MUCH LESS PAY THEM FOR IT? any one who gives these clowns money needs their head examined!
