Overview comparison for Pets Best, PetFirst

Pets Best

Founded in 2005 and insuring 100,000 pets as of June, 2018, Pets Best offers three different insurance plans and two wellness plans for routine care. The company has no age limit, however, it does not cover preexisting conditions and the rates increase as the pet grows older.

The conditions that are covered are new illnesses, accidents, cancer treatments, surgeries, ongoing and chronic diseases, and more, with the exam fees being covered by most of the plans. In addition to any preexisting conditions, this company does not cover special diets or testing, or treatment and prevention of parasites.

The most basic plan that Pets Best offers is called Essential, covering new conditions like injuries and illnesses, without including the exam fees that are covered by the more expensive Plus and Elite plans. Rehabilitative treatments like acupuncture or chiropractic care are only covered by the Elite plan.

The regular plans have no annual benefit limit, deductibles that range from $50 to $1,000 and a maximum reimbursement rate of 90%. The waiting periods with this pet insurance firm are three days for accidents, one day for diseases, and six months for cruciate ligament injuries.

PetFirst

In business since 2004, PetFirst‘s three most popular insurance plans have yearly benefit limits ranging from $2,000 to $10,000, unlike Pets Best that has no yearly payment limits. However, PetFirst does not impose any lifetime or age limits. Routine care coverage is also offered in three optional routine care packages. The insurance can be used for any licensed veterinarian, emergency clinic, or specialist in the U.S.

This insurance provider explicitly covers new accidents and illnesses, including hereditary, congenital, and chronic diseases and care, as well as exam fees, unlike Pets Best’s Essential plan. What it does not cover, though, are preexisting conditions, breeding conditions, or pet food.

PetFirst’s three most popular insurance plans are Cost Conscious, with a yearly benefit of $2,000, Recommended, with an annual payment limit of $5,000 and Additional Coverage, with a yearly benefit of $10,000. All three of these plans have a $250 deductible and an 80% reimbursement rate.

The waiting periods for this pet insurance firm are one day for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, and 12 months for cruciate ligaments and disc illness.

Conclusion

You can relax while having fun with your dear four-legged pals knowing that they are insured with one of the oldest pet insurance companies on the market. If you choose Pets Best, you can expect to be able to customize your plan, have no annual limits, and have coverage for non-preexisting conditions including cancer or chronic illnesses. This firm offers deductibles that range from $50 to $1,000 and a maximum reimbursement rate of 90%. With PetFirst, on the other hand, you have plenty of plans to choose from, with annual benefit limits but no lifetime or per-illness caps and coverage for new injuries or conditions including hereditary, congenital, and chronic diseases. This firm’s three most popular plans have annual deductibles of $250 and an 80% reimbursement. Which one do you prefer?
