HideMyAss Introduces Updated Desktop Client, Multicurrency and More

A rather profane sounding title, but it gets the message through: HideMyAss is a highly popular solution among web users who wish to shield themselves against online identity theft, hackers, and privacy violations. Furthermore, HideMyAss played a vital role in pioneering VPN services. Thus it’s no wonder they strive to provide the highest caliber protection available to this very day. With this said, they recently announced their newest step towards internet safety: the updated HMA! Pro VPN client. But could the lightning strike twice?

HMA VPN

New features, new possibilities

Unlike many other VPN providers, who just set up a bunch of servers around the world and then instruct you to use an open source VPN client to connect, HMA did take the extra mile and developed its own software. This not only shows their dedication, but also prevents possible privacy leaks and dangerous flaws. But in the IT world, there is always room for improvements. This lead to the recent release of the new HMA! Pro VPN client. It’s still in Beta version – meaning that some tweaks are required here and there – but it’s fully functional nonetheless.

Other than the new glossy design, you also find changes among the key features as well. In case you mainly use one or two locations, you can now mark them as “Favorites” so switching between them becomes easier. HMA! Pro also widens the language barriers by catering to multiple nations. This leads to the seamless support of multiple languages, and they are set according to the major language setting defined by your operating system. Currently the client runs only on Windows and Mac, but the creators plan to implement it for systems as well.

Multicurrency & server expansion

The improved service doesn’t stop with the new client, though. HideMyAss simultaneously introduced the multicurrency feature. When you visit the prices page, you’ll notice the change immediately: for 15 countries, including Switzerland, Turkey, Germany, Japan and South Korea, the prices are displayed in local values. And the developers plan to continue this trend, and cover more countries’ currencies in the near future. Lastly, HMA happily informs users that they expanded their server network by adding new networks. 12 new VPN servers – in 2 new countries – were added, ensuring high speed connectivity at any point on the globe.
