Enjoying the autumn of life peacefully without the need to worry about your safety: this is what AlarmCare promises. Being part of the renowned AlarmForce home security group, AlarmCare shares the same level of highly secured monitoring services. Experienced emergency responders can instantly get in touch with you with the help of the smart pendants, and quickly access your stored medical history. There are two home base units you can choose from: a standard version with two-way voice communication feature and an advanced version with added fall detection technology. You can forget the annual contracts, as the service works with month-to-month payments you can easily cancel, and there is full lifetime warranty. With AlarmCare you can have 24/7 protection with medical alert equipment you can use for free from as low as $28 per month.
The monitoring service for AlarmCare is provided by the parent company, AlarmForce, which gathered decades-long experience on the field. No matter whether they are dealing with home security or medical alert calls, the emergency operators respond in a fast and competent manner, even on holidays. This is proven by their Five Diamond Central Station certification by the CSAA (Central Station Alarm Association), a certificate which only companies who are fully committed towards industry standards and represent professional monitoring can earn. With AlarmForce, you can put you worries aside, as the base unit and help pendant are constantly communicating with the monitoring station. This ensures that the system always works perfectly.
During an emergency situation, receiving appropriate aid draws the line between life and death. Seniors often have a long medical history, coupled with allergies or serious symptoms, which always has to be taken into account by the local emergency personnel. To improve medical authority’s work, the AlarmCare Personal Emergency Response System stores all your valuable information on file, including medical history and emergency contact list. When you signal for help, the response operators will automatically gather all necessary data and share it with the dispatched emergency service, further increasing their efficiency.
The medical alert Pendant is not only waterproof, but also incorporates fall detection. The technology is based on the synchronized work of numerous built-in sensors that are constantly monitoring the carrier’s movement, momentum, height and status. The system triggers an automatic help signal upon sensing a sudden change that prompts a fall. This feature will relieve you of manually pressing the button, which is more than useful when you fall unconscious or find yourself unable to move your hands. The signal works in a similar fashion to the standard emergency pendant, thus an operator will check on your situation and send help even without any noteworthy response.
AlarmCare only provides medical alert systems that are capable of monitoring your home. The standard home base unit prefers traditional phone lines to high-speed Internet. VoIP telephone services are vulnerable to power outages, and they depend on the strength of the internet connections. Therefore the company highly recommends using their system with traditional landlines, as they are more dependable. Two-way communication is an important part in providing crystal clear conversation between you and the monitoring center. It enables the base unit to cover every inch of you house, so your voice will be heard even two rooms away. Another useful feature is the voice prompt: your AlarmCare medical alert unit uses easily understandable voice messages if there is some kind of problem with the system or the pendant. These voice prompts include alerts when the battery is low or you phone line is down. If you or your elderly relative is prone to falling, consider updating the standard service with fall detection.
Besides the base units, the emergency help pendant is also worth mentioning. Other than the fact that it is waterproof and has variation with fall detection, it also has smart identification feature. This means that every smart pendant sends a unique signal that allows the respond operators to identify you even before you can say a word. This feature is especially useful when there are two medical alert users in the same household, for example an elderly couple, and the smart pendants can avert confusion and spare the time and effort of explaining oneself.
Direct ordering of AlarmCare systems is not possible through the website. Your only option is to contact a sales representative over the phone, who will help you finalize the deal. The company offers professional installation for its products, so you don’t have to worry about it. However, this option is only available in areas where an AlarmForce installation service is available. If you are outside of these regions, then you must do it with the help of the instructions and also pay for the shipment of the equipment. You need to get in touch with the customer center to find out whether or not you can request professional set up.
AlarmForce strives to provide good medical alert value for a low price. The 24/7 protection comes for a monthly monitoring fee, without the need to buy the equipment itself. While most companies often use quarterly or even annual system plans, AlarmCare’s service works on a month-to-month agreement, thus your chosen system’s billing will be posted on a short-term basis. This means that you don’t have to obligate yourself for a longer period of time, and there are not long-term contracts either. With AlarmCare, you can always see the status of your medical alert plans, and manage it according to your needs. You also have the freedom to cancel anytime you want, without risking your prepaid subscription fees.
There are two different pricing plans for AlarmCare systems. The standard medical alert unit has two-way speaker phones and a waterproof help button, and it costs you $28 for a month. The advanced version has all the benefits of the standard unit, and features fall detection as an available addition. Choosing Alarmcare with fall detection is $32.95 per month.
Companies often put an extra cost on activating one of their products. AlarmCare subscribers can enjoy their safety net without any activation fee, as long they are in an area where AlarmForce installers are available. Otherwise $69 Outside Area Shipping Fee is applied. This goes for the installation too. In case your unit gets lost, damaged, or the batteries become depleted, you have the option to send it back to the company for replacement, which is guaranteed by the full lifetime warranty.
AlarmForce has a well-rounded customer service that is prepared for any kind of question on your behalf. There are two ways to easily reach them: call the company on 1-800-267-2001 over the phone, or send them a message via the online form provided on the website. A specialist will contact you soon afterwards, and help you on the subject matter. AlarmForce is accredited by the Better Business Bureau, and received an A for its good quality service. The company has an active presence on Facebbok and Twitter, with frequent posts and updated. On the website, you find further information about AlarmForce or AlarmCare by watching their videos.
The medical alarm system that AlarmForce provides can be considered as humble but competent. Fall detection is always a welcomed addition since it’s a common threat for seniors. Other than that, AlarmCare grants the medical alert users an experienced and well working monitoring system, where they store your medical data and quickly identify you thanks to the smart pendants. On the other hand, the service lacks any other significant alert care feature, such as med dispensers, lockboxes, microphone buttons or on-the-go system. AlarmCare is a good choice if you want to have an extra safety net for your beloved elder, who spends most of the time at home.

I had booked an appointment for 9am on June 24th to have the AlarmCare installed for my mother. At 10am I called in to ensure the installer had not forgot, only to be told that he is running late and did not know when he would arrive. I then asked for another appointment and was told Sunday July 2nd at 12:30pm. At 1:30pm I called to once again see why the installer was late, only to be told that they do not do installations on Sundays.
If AlarmCare cannot show up to install and then would give me an appointment on a day that they do not do installations, where is the customer CARE in AlarmCARE? I highly recommend that you avoid AlarmForce/AlarmCare, unless you enjoy frustration.

On March I suffered a slight stroke and decided to get AlarmCare as a precaution. I paid the required three months fee in advance and was told that I could cancel anytime. What I wasn’t told was NO any kind of refund is issued if cancelled before the three months. Apparently it is indicated in ‘the fine print’ of the contract.
A CASH GRAB from the sick and elderly who do not have a lawyer at their disposition. So this co. charged me $132.+ for one month’s service.
Shame on you, AlarmCare.+
