There is one significant side of SimpleTelly’s service that sets it apart from the other companies. It is the quality of their official website and how well they use the browser interface to help you set up your smart DNS connection. To start your own online adventures with such a proxy server, all you need to do is perform a manual setup. Log in on the official SimpleTelly website, and you will be provided with two DNS addresses: a primary and a secondary. These are most often the closest addresses to your place of residence. Then, you must access your internet connection’s properties, and change the addresses themselves there.

Do take note that both the primary and the secondary figures are needed to establish a successful smart DNS connection. We must also warn you that similarly to most companies that offer smart DNS services, SimpleTelly supports the IPv4 protocol only. If you are more comfortable on IPv6, you have to disable that type of IP and enable IPv4 before moving on to setting up the smart DNS. Also, we recommend always saving or validating the changes you made, depending on the device.

The official website is very helpful in getting all of this done. SimpleTelly supports a rather average number of channels, 131. Their website makes it rather easy to browse through your options here, as they are listed as “paid” or “free”, which is a pleasant sight. Informing users about the nature of the broadcasts they can watch is something that is often not done by other providers, and thus SimpleTelly receives our commendation for this. These 131 channels are not distributed evenly. The United States’ broadcasts cover more than half of the spectrum, and the company makes it clear that it is this area’s online entertainment that is emphasized. They are especially advocating Netflix usage, and at the bottom of the main website’s main page, there is a “newly introduced” list, keeping you up on the latest additions to SimpleTelly’s growing list of supported channels and their content offerings.

SimpleTelly’s DNS addresses behave very well while in the running. During our tests, we experienced no disruptions of service. For the actual speed values, we were not disappointed either: SimpleTelly does not take anything away from your internet connection’s capabilities, you will run at full speed.

The most important piece of information to note about the connections themselves is that all DNS addresses grant you the same, complete access. In your client area, you are always given the DNS addresses closest to your location, this is great, as you will always receive the best conditions for whatever it is you do on the internet. Also, if you want a more specific setup, you can select the content you want to access based on region, country, and even some channels themselves. SimpleTelly’s client area is a well designed tool for network setup.

SimpleTelly is a… simpler company based on the fact that they only run smart DNS. It is perhaps a bit better off this way; companies that also have a VPN to boot often place smart DNS in a secondary position. SimpleTelly focuses only on the latter, for the better in their case.

SimpleTelly collects some information about you, to have some means of establishing contact with you. Such collections of data happen when you register, or enter information by other means on the official website. To quote the privacy policy: “when ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your email address or other details”. This includes billing info as well.

As far as the security of your connection goes, SimpleTelly has the defenses of any smart DNS proxy server. This is marginally better than your every day internet connection, but you can still be a subject of surveillance, for example. Nevertheless, SimpleTelly’s focus is admittedly on preserving speed when unblocking streaming content, and they succeed very well in executing that. The official website does use cookies, and the company – despite seated in Hong Kong – follows The Fair Information Practices Principles, a United States based privacy law.

There is a setup guide for each and every device for SimpleTelly. All of them can be found on the official website, even without logging in. For computers, you can use the service on Windows 7, 8 and 10, along with Linux (terminal), Linux Ubuntu and Apple computers. Mobile devices include Android, Android Lollipop (5.x), Android Marshmallow (6.x), Kindle Fire, Windows Phone, and the trio of the iPhone, the iPad and the iPod. Gaming consoles are also welcome, with PS Vita, PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 available. Smart televisions are also good to go; Panasonic Smart TV, LG smart TV, Samsung Smart TV and surprisingly Sony Bravia are the ones you should consider using SimpleTelly with. SimpleTelly has a… simple pricing structure (and we have bad, bad puns). Next to the packages themselves, you can also try out the company’s services for free. This manifests in a 14-day free trial. In our opinion, this is great; two weeks is a lot of time to figure out whether this smart DNS service meets your expectations or not, and in the worst case, you still had free access for a while. We definitely recommend giving it a try.

Now, for the prices themselves. There are three different plans on sale. One month is already very favorable, with $4 only. This is 20% off from most other smart DNS companies that set their starting values around $5. The three months subscription is on sale for $10 ($3.33 per month). From SimpleTelly’s standard of $4 month-to-month, this is 17% off. And lastly, the annual package is the most advantageous. Twelve months fare at $30 ($2.5 per month) only, which means a 38% discount. Considering what SimpleTelly offers in return for these values, these are cheap prices that favor the customer. For all of your purchases, there is a 24-hour refund policy in effect from the moment you bought the product. This is not tied to any condition. You do not have to give a reason for the refund, simply inform the company of your intention.

There are not many ways to contact SimpleTelly, at least in comparison with other smart DNS companies. The main toll of talking to the staff is via submitting a ticket. While most of the space on these sites is reserved for smart DNS news, announcements, customer notices for technical difficulties or upcoming events are posted as well.

We had the impression that SimpleTelly is a quiet, steady ride. Not too much of a fuss about anything, just a relaxed and steady service. Do not misunderstand us, this is great! It should be a smart DNS company’s agenda to provide an environment for the customer in which they have to pay little attention and do little work to unblock streams of any other kinds of content the company provides access to. SimpleTelly is good in this. They offer a high degree of specialization, down to the level of enabling and disabling individual channels. You can also easily set up your connection, all from your browser. SimpleTelly tells its story simply, and there is not much more to ask for.
