Reimage, brought to you by a quite well appraised company of the same name, is a pretty solid repair tool, optimized for not just Windows-based computers, but Macs and Android devices as well. By using Reimage your device is both literally and figuratively reimaged since the program scans your entire PC and finds within minutes what is causing it to slow down. From damaged DLLs and Windows errors to the always scary BSoD (Blue Screen of Death); everything can be fixed by running this versatile software. Reimage is available on a free trial that you can enjoy for an unlimited time if you need to simply scan your computer. However, if you choose a paid subscription you can repair all found issues within a jiffy and you will be treated with some sweet deals and offers.

The team behind Reimage definitely earns our respect as their program is one of the most flexible out there. Although you cannot alter the software’s scanning patterns, it still analyzes every corner of your device within minutes. In fact, it even overachieves on its job, as it is capable of preventing future computer freezes by fixing potentially damaged apps and wiping all virus damage. The latter feature is one that Reimage is especially proud of: aside from causing side effects, viruses leave traces (mostly errors) occupying valuable space on your computer – but Reimage’s solution takes care of that problem as well. Reimage can also restore compromised system settings and registry values to their default Microsoft settings should you have tampered with them to such an extent it resulted in a complete catastrophe.

Special appreciation goes to the effort Reimage made to develop an Android app, proving that some PC registry cleaning companies think outside the Microsoft box. Thus, you can have the same experience on your Android devices as well, allowing you to free up space and monitor your smartphone/tablet memory and storage.

Scanning with Reimage is a two-edged knife as the app gives you quite an unusual yet useful deep insight into your computer. Among other curious procedures, the software displays lots of system information in a self-explanatory manner, including your hard drive’s free space, CPU usage and even the current temperature level of your computer. On the other hand though, it doesn’t allow you to manually select what areas you want to scan. This is especially annoying when you launch the app, as the scanning starts automatically and there’s nothing you can do about it other than aborting it.

In practice, it took Reimage exactly 7 minutes to scrutinize our test computer and to find 1,460 issues (including corrupt DLLs and other errors) every time we ran the software, placing this provider in the mid-table regarding scanning speed.

Before jumping right into this other crucial aspect of every registry cleaning program, the repairing, there are a few things worth mentioning. The first one is that your actions are irreversible: as Reimage doesn’t create any restore points from old savings or configurations, once you’re done repairing there’s nothing you can do about it. The other thing is that Reimage allows you to see the list of found issues and error, but you cannot pick what you want to delete since the program wipes everything automatically. Furthermore, the wiping feature doesn’t work in the free trial, meaning that subscribing to Reimage’s services is mandatory if you want your computer clean. Last but not least, you cannot pause nor cancel the repair once it is in progress, so the moment you click on the fixing button the only way to prevent something bad from happening is closing the client itself and start scanning all over again.

Pricing

Reimage has some sweet deals, which makes dealing with the company like going into a candy shop. Not only you can download this registry cleaning program for Windows and Mac, but you can have it for one of the lowest prices of the market. One license costs as short as $29.95 for a whole year, albeit with a small catch: the price only allows you a one time repair. To be able to use the repair feature and get access to the support as many times as you want, you have to choose the “best value” offer for an extra $10 per year. However, using Reimage with this extra has a monthly cost of about $3.33 per month, which is still pretty acceptable for the value that it brings.

Aside from the above, you can always opt for the 3-license plan with unlimited use for one year for roughly $4.99 per month or, in other words, a total of $59.95 per year. But regardless of your choice, all plans come with a nice 60-day money back guarantee and the option to pay with not only credit cards, but PayPal as well.

Customer service

When it comes to customer support, Reimage is a hit and a miss. The company’s FAQ page is pretty decent, containing accurate and complete information that gives accurate answers to more general and more specific questions in a straightforward manner. In addition to that, it is possible to read some tips on PC optimization within the website.

However, the only way to have direct contact with the staff is by submitting a ticket with their 24/7 customer support desk stating your issue and then waiting for the reply. Regardless, if you want to use alternative, more effective contact methods, consider visiting Reimage’s Facebook page which, besides not being very active, grants you a response within minutes or hours. There is also a blog with some more tips, but unfortunately this one is a bit outdated.

Bottom line

Reimage is a strong mid-table contender that definitely has the potential of reaching the higher league, if it manages to fix some of its cons. It is unfortunate that no restore points are created and no options of choosing what to delete are given. Not being able to do anything else but the scanning when launching the client is another particularity that might annoy some clients. But by far the biggest disappointment is the fact that you are forced to invest an extra $10 to use the repairing function more than once a year which is highly questionable since Reimage operates with an otherwise attractive pricing policy.

Still, this program is way better in many aspects than the majority of the competition. The information given upon scanning goes beyond what is generally seen in other registry cleaners and computer optimization software. Aside from that, you can easily get rid of virus damage, restore default settings and registry values with Reimage within minutes. The fact that Reimage makes its services available for Mac and Android too is not only unusual, but it’s also a nice feat.

I paid the money to have adblocking (duckduckgo) removed, and whatever Reimage did had no effect. It was at the least a case of deceptive sales.

I contacted Reimage Repair and paid the so called fee for 1 year of £9.00, I then was sent a message to call 088-404-9533, only to get a person answer and said he did not take incoming calls so would call me back. 5 minuets later I received a call from another country, he asked me to go to a link to give him full access to my Laptop, I said what country was he calling from and he replied Thailand,. At this point I became a little suspicious and said I did not wish to give him full access to my laptop and could he send me a link to the site to carryout the repairs myself and he replied ok. I am still awaiting the link, plus the £9.00 cost became £34.00 fee deducted immediately from my account! I am afraid my dealings to date seem to be of a company either a Scam deducting cash or maybe even a virus to get into your computer and extract bank or credit details. Regards Mark

I paid for ‘SPYWARE” malware removal program. It was very nerve racking. First it was confusing. Then everytime that I was on a web page it would pop up, preventing me from using the web site. I had a hard time getting the pop up deleted. When I contacted them, they told me to start at the beginning and install it. It would not work! My money was down the drain. I had to have it uninstalled. These programs need to make it possible for everyone to be able to understand exactly how to use their product.
