Medical Guardian has been helping seniors achieve independence and a higher quality of life since 2005. The company offers a lifetime warranty on all its products, and users can request a personal profile that includes information on their medical history, medications, and contact numbers for doctors, family members, friends, and local hospitals and emergency services. The Medical Guardian call center is UL approved, and when you contact Medical Guardian, a certified emergency responder will help you assess your situation and will determine what actions need to be taken. This could include arranging for an ambulance to take you to the hospital, or it could be as simple as calling a family member or friend and asking them to check up on you.
As well as traditional alert systems that connect to your home’s landline, Medical Guardian offers four mobile alert systems with GPS tracking. All of these systems are portable, and you can take them with you when you go on vacation or move to a new home. It’s also possible to get fall detection, which calls for help when you fall, even if you’re unconscious or unable to speak. This feature is paid separately and is available on all devices except for the Freedom Guardian.
Bay Alarm Medical has been in the business for over seventy years, and in addition to its standard alert systems, the company offers a mobile system and fire, smoke, and carbon monoxide detectors. Bay Alarm Medical serves its clients from three call stations, all of which are based in the US and certified by the CSAA. When you contact Bay Alarm Medical, you have the option to receive support in over 170 different languages, including English, Spanish, Chinese, Farsi and others. The call centers are manned by well-trained medical professionals who know how to assess different emergencies, and who immediately contact emergency services or relatives when needed.
The Bay Alarm Medical alert system is easy to use and can be easily installed by plugging the base into a phone line and power source. All systems are portable and come with a 32-hour backup battery, so they will continue to function even in the case of a power outage. The emergency pendants that come with the system are waterproof and have a 1,000-feet range and a five-year battery life. Bay Alarm Medical offers a promotion where you will receive free coverage if you purchase a second pendant for your spouse, making it a good choice for elderly couples.
Both Medical Guardian and Bay Alarm Medical are respected companies that have been in the field for many years. They offer similar packages that come without any hidden or activation fees, and they both offer around the clock support from accredited call centers within the country. Plus, they’re capable of answering distress calls in various languages, which is necessary if your loved one doesn’t speak English. Medical Guardian is a good choice for those who want a wide array of on-the-go devices, while Bay Alarm Medical gives you the option of installing a fire, smoke, and carbon monoxide detector.

I leased a medical alarm from this company for my sister who was going through chemo. She passed away in May, and I called to cancel my service, but was told that they will only cancel after they receive the equipment. She lived in Seattle and I live in Denver. My nephew sent me a text just after her death telling me he would take care of it the next day and didn’t, so I thought it was taken care of. My former brother-in-law and I parted and bad terms, and he won’t send it back. I have no control over getting their equipment back to the and I understand that it’s fair that they be reimbursed for it, but think it should have been pay for the equipment OR be charged for service, not BOTH. There are plenty of other companies offering this service and these people are jerks. Look elsewhere!

How can it help if I don’t know the company? It does alert me to ask about such things.
