Liquid Accounts, a British online accounting software company, has been building its SaaS application for the cloud for many years now. Their confidence that the cloud is the best solution to providing businesses with quality software and services has only gotten stronger over the last couple of years. So has their philosophy that anyone should be able to use their software to do their accounting work from anywhere they want at any time without overpaying for features and capacity that they don’t need anyway. We had the honor to do an interview with Asam Shah from Liquid Accounts about their software and their company.
Liquid Accounts specializes in online accounting software for the SME market. We create jargon-free, user-friendly business accounting software designed to save time, resources and money.
We have a range of businesses in different industries that use Liquid: design, retail, construction, commodity brokers, charities, non-profit organizations, PR, web designers, art galleries etc. We have found that the wholesale distribution industry is a specific strength of Liquid as these types of companies need a range of complementary modules.
Yes, that was the objective of starting Liquid in the first place; creating easy-to-use software for business users who have no prior accounting knowledge. Liquid is very popular with new start-ups, and we provide a free complimentary ‘Getting Started’ online training session to help them get the most our of Liquid.
This is a quote from one of our clients, Integral IT:
“I managed to complete all Integral’s accounts for a single week without any accounting knowledge and just using the excellent video blogs that are provided free of charge. I also actually rather enjoyed it! From now on, we are going to complete the weekly accounts internally. This alone will be a significant cost saving of around £5000.00 per year.”
That says it all really.
It is a known fact that 80% of small businesses that use formal accounting software survive, and 80% of those who do not fail.
Yes, Liquid Accounts is available for overseas customers as well. We currently have major clients in 12 other countries apart from the UK including USA, Mexico and Switzerland. We have Advanced Multi-Currency as one of our popular modules for this type of users.
Liquid is different for two main reasons: its depth of functionality and its ability to be customized to suit your business’ needs. Liquid has the ability to switch modules on and off. We have a range of add-ons that have been self-developed, these include payroll, order management, online VAT, CIS, multi-currency, job costing, e-commerce/web integration plus much more.
There are a number of reasons.
The cloud is not the future, it’s the present! Major companies like Apple, Google and Amazon are all investing money and resources in providing online solutions for their customers. As early adopters of SaaS (we were the first ones who provided an online accounting package), we have seen how the mentality has changed – from early skepticism to current adoption. The SaaS subscription model makes sense; pay for what you use.
Liquid already works on most tablets and smartphones, using the dedicated browser app. Currently, there is no native Liquid app but we scheduled a development plan to create one in the near future.
Yes, we are working on integration with Google Apps.
Yes, this is currently in hand.
Great fun! West Yorkshire is becoming a breeding ground for great technological innovation. It’s great to be part of like-mired creatives.
The cloud/SaaS is not the future – it is the present! If you want to get in touch with us, you can find us through our website, Twitter or Facebook.
We would like to thank Asam and the rest of the Liquid Accounts team again for doing this interview with us.
