Take Cloud Phone, for instance, which focuses on the overall user experience by providing an easily manageable phone system and a set of interesting extras like flawless voicemail transcription, all of which will help to make the lives of businesses hassle-free.
Other companies, like Phone.com, treat their subscribers like kings by giving them access to enterprise-grade features by default. But this company manages to up the ante even further by giving users the option to turn their system into powerhouses thanks to third party service integrations and a bunch of additional extras.

Although Cloud Phone features every basic feature you might expect – such as follow-me find-me, which is included under a new name of Reach Me Anywhere – it isn’t these typical elements that make Voxox’s service such a great VoIP provider. As always, it’s everything that lies underneath that is truly noteworthy.
Firstly, the handling of voicemail is superb thanks to the fact that all voicemails are automatically sent to your email address in a transcribed format alongside the original recording attached to the message. Secondly, all calls can be recorded for free with Cloud Phone’s app, which also serves as a separate conferencing line for up to five people. Additionally, the app has other extras such as eavesdropping on ongoing calls, business texting – which is included in all subscription plans by default – and the management of certain features related to the phone system.
The phone system manager is Cloud Phone’s ace in the hole, in fact, and not just because of its simple and visually appealing nature. For starters, it’s fully mobile compatible, but can also handle all features with ease from programming the auto-attendant and managing system notifications to reading written greetings aloud without sounding unnatural.
The best thing, however, is Cloud Phone’s value for money: although the cheapest $12 plan has no free minutes, it still includes all call related features without limitations alongside a sweet 30-day free trial. However, bigger plans are even better value for money by adding up to 4,000 monthly free minutes, 4,000 SMS messages, five numbers, and unlimited extensions into the mix.
Phone.com was launched in 2007 but within a short period of time it managed to become a true market leader mostly thanks to its strong range of tools that any business could benefit from. Aside from providing all call related features to every subscriber, Phone.com brings with it some pretty innovative features as well. One particularly impressive aspect is voice tagging, which is basically an advanced form of the dial-by-name feature involving audio messages. And this is just the beginning, too, since Phone.com users can also enjoy a fully programmable interactive voice response menu, business texting and two-way faxing. Additionally, there is the pay-only ChatCalls tool that is capable of sending voice messages to various phone numbers and email addresses at the same time.
The dedicated conferencing extension bridge is also worth mentioning: not only is it completely free of charge but it can handle up to 300 simultaneous calls, too. And if you download Communicator, the company’s softphone, then HD video calls can also be used as part of conferences, too – something that can also be done from Phone.com’s iOS and Android phone extension apps.
The phone system manager perfectly serves its purpose as well, especially when using clever features like the scheduler or integrating the system into one of 17 third party CRM solutions including Zoho, Insightly, and Microsoft Dynamics.
If that’s not convincing enough, Phone.com offers its minute-based pricing plans from as low as $9.99 per month, but even the best unlimited plan won’t cost you much at $27.99 per month. All this, and we haven’t even mentioned all those add-ons.
Although both VoIP providers perfectly serve the needs of any business looking to move their phone system to the cloud, they each apply different approaches when trying to convince customers.
If you prefer simplicity with some minor compromise then Cloud Phone is your choice. Granted, it’s not that spectacular feature-wise, but the mobile-friendly phone system manager is a pleasure to use thanks to its pleasant interface and straightforward functionality. Not to mention Cloud Phone has many business-grade features like voicemail transcription, call recording and an extension app that serves as a handy conferencing bridge, too.
Phone.com is the VoIP service to go with if you prefer an enterprise-grade solution at SMB prices. Not only does it provide everything imaginable to make handling phone system related tasks completely hassle-free, but it throws in countless other extras like third party app integration, an advanced softphone and much more for businesses to make the most of.
