CandidateView is a web-based platform that simplifies hiring by replacing traditional CV screening with asynchronous video interviews. Recruiters can pre-assess candidates’ skills at their convenience, without the need to schedule one-on-one interviews.

With features to personalize job postings targeting ideal candidates, an extensive question bank, and a sleek dashboard showing a clear overview of the recruitment processes, CandidateView is perfect for employers looking to streamline their hiring processes through a video solution.

Prices start at $200 per month with the annual plan, offering a 33% discount compared to monthly billing. However, before making this long-term commitment, we recommend taking advantage of the 14-day free trial.

CandidateView has tools to simplify the hiring process for both companies and candidates. The platform provides an innovative way for hiring teams to seek candidates and candidates to vet the companies before applying, taking the focus off traditional resumes and cover letters.

Video is the primary means of communication – candidates can submit videos answering tailored questions and watch videos provided by the company to get to know it better. This appeals to companies looking for a modern approach to hiring because it allows candidates to show their qualities and personalities, which isn’t the case with resume-based processes.

The web-based platform sports a sleek and intuitive interface. For instance, the dashboard welcomes you with a visually pleasing overview of your company’s open positions, job postings, candidate video invites, and completed candidate videos.

Job postings

To start the recruitment process with CandidateView, first, you need to set up the job posting details like job position, salary, and intro video.

On the Job Positions page, you can create as many job positions as you wish. The essential details to set are the title and type of position (full-time, part-time), but you can also add the candidate’s responsibilities, requirements, job description, and benefits.

Adding various job positions makes it easier for hiring teams and recruiters to standardize role responsibilities. By doing so, they have quick access when creating new jobs for the same position.

Interviews and question bank

After setting the details of the job, you can create customized video and text questions for applicants. There’s an extensive bank of numerous questions divided into interview questions, knockout questions, and applicant details.

There are questions in all types of categories: behavioral, conflict resolution, leadership, teamwork, and the list goes on. Each one has a video where an actor asks the question, giving the process a more human touch and the feeling of a real video interview.

You can also create questions and upload your own question videos. Then, a preview page allows you to see how the job posting looks before publishing, so you can make sure any mistakes are addressed.

During our testing, we found that the process of crafting the interview was a bit complicated and may confuse some users, so that’s an area where the platform could use some improvement.

Template and team management

CandidateView also has email templates for recruiters to customize and send to applicants. There are pre-written emails to send invitations and inform about completed or incomplete steps, selection to the next stage of the process, and rejection.

We found these pre-set emails incredibly useful and time-saving. What’s more, there’s a dedicated tab to add and manage additional team members, so everybody on the recruitment team is able to participate in the job posting and hiring process.

Pricing

CandidateView has a pleasingly simple and straightforward pricing structure, but it isn’t the most affordable. There are only the annual and monthly plans, with the cheapest being annual, which works out as $200 per month.

There’s also a 14-day free trial, so you can test the platform before committing long-term. Finally, keep in mind that the company only takes credit cards.

We have to admit that CandidateView’s forte isn’t customer support. For starters, the website is as concise as can be, so you won’t find much information about its features. Due to this, we really felt the absence of a dedicated help center.

On the bright side, you can request a demo account before subscribing, which grants you access to more in-depth support. Once you’re on the platform, there’s a useful hub with help provided by AI and a thorough user guide.

Plus, there’s an informative blog and a contact page. When we reached out via the contact form, we got a straightforward and fast answer. All our inquiries were well addressed in less than 24 hours.

Another area for improvement is the company’s social media presence. Although CandidateView is on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, we couldn’t find enough support content there.

Bottom line

CandidateView lets recruiters easily assess candidates’ skills through video interviews, moving beyond traditional resume screening.

Key benefits include a user-friendly interface, an extensive question bank, unlimited job postings, team management tools, and convenient email templates. However, setting up interviews can be complex, and customer support is limited.

Still, as a brand-new company, we’re confident these issues will be addressed and resolved in the future.

Subscriptions start at $200 per month with an annual plan, which results in a 33% price drop compared to monthly billing. A 14-day free trial is also available to test the platform before committing.
