CallHippo is a relatively new addition to the VoIP industry. Founded in 2016, CallHippo lets you buy instant local support numbers from over 50 countries across the world. The sign-up process and the system interface are so user-friendly that you will be able to set up a call center in just a few minutes. By charging only for the service and providing very competitive rates, CallHippo makes sure that it can please small startups, large companies, and everything in between. Furthermore, if you are an entrepreneur starting your own company, you may want to try out CallHippo’s free plan where you only pay for the calls and nothing else. On the other hand, if you belong to a large company that has high call volumes, the sales support team is there to build you a personal pack where you don’t pay for the users, only for the calls.
CallHippo is a well-rounded service that offers everything you need from a VoIP. Though it does not provide a faxing feature, and it’s only possible to have three-person conferences, it’s still the perfect option to bring your business’s call handling to the next level for a very reasonable price.
Contrary to other companies in the industry, CallHippo prefers to have everything integrated within its plans rather than offering additional features for extra costs. This means that some features won’t be available in the cheaper packages, but the most important features are all available in the free plan.
Besides the usual features regarding call handling, CallHippo goes the extra mile with some advanced features. One of them is the multi-level IVR, where it’s effortless to mount and manage a system that will guide your customers throughout the various departments and make sure they’ll get the help they need from the first person they talk to.
Another neat feature, perfect if you have worldwide customers, is GlobalConnect that lets users find the time zone of a particular country right away. Other helpful features you can count on are barge call and intelligent call distribution, among others. Better yet, all features are easy to manage through the user-friendly browser platform or mobile app.
It would be impossible to bring your business to the next level without providing a complete array of call handling features. CallHippo knows that and made sure it implemented everything a business requires.
When a customer calls, you can pick up through the browser platform, Chrome extension, mobile app, or, if you enable the call forward option, through your mobile phone. Calls can be set to either ring to everyone under a team, go through a fixed order of users, or in round robin order. The latter makes sure that everyone receives an equal number of calls.
While on call, there are several options you can choose from as well. It’s possible to do both warm and cold transfers or add someone to the conversation and do a three-person conference call. Talking about adding someone to the meeting, supervisors can also enter the conference bridge whenever they want. This feature is excellent to use when training new agents, helping with emergencies, or preventing limitless call transfers.
You don’t need to worry if someone calls while nobody is working. CallHippo offers unlimited and customizable voicemail inboxes for every number. The voicemails are then delivered to the users’ email and can be accessed directly from there.
CallHippo’s dashboard is straightforward and easy to use. From accessing call logs, to adding new numbers, everything is manageable without leaving the system.
The dashboard gives you an overview of the company’s performance. Right off the bat, it’s possible to see the total number of calls, as well as their types, best performer, and live activity. In the numbers’ tab, besides the possibility of adding new numbers, it’s also possible to configure the number you already own. This is where you can enable/disable call recordings, add welcome messages and voicemail, set the opening hours of your business, among other options.
From there on out, you have the users’ tab where you manage all users, teams, the activity feed that has all the call logs, account settings, call reports, and call planner. Last but not least, there is also the integrations’ tab where you can manage all the third-party integrations you may want to add.
CallHippo is very flexible when it comes to phone numbers. Though each one has its own price, it’s possible to set up a local number in more than 58 countries throughout the world. For the U.S., though, the cost of a local phone number is $8 per month.
Besides a local number, it’s also possible to get a toll-free number. Like the local numbers, CallHippo does not limit you to the U.S. only, and toll-free numbers for other countries such as the UK, Australia, and Canada are just a few of the many possibilities. The price depends on the country you pick, but using the U.S. as an example, it’s $9 per month.
CallHippo offers mobile numbers, as well, though this is not available for the U.S. Nevertheless, the UK and Australia are some of the countries where you can get a mobile number with prices at $9 and $10 per month, respectively.
It’s not possible to connect to CallHippo’s website through a mobile browser, which means that users are obliged to download and use the Android or the iOS app. Fortunately, the mobile application is well-designed and gives you a decent amount of information.
When you open the application, the first thing you’ll see is the dialpad. A pleasant detail is that the current hour for the country you want to call appears below, making sure you always get in touch with your customers at the right time. Besides the dial, it’s also possible to see the call logs for all calls, your contact list, send SMS, access your call reminders, add credits, and tweak some settings such as enabling/disabling your availability.
Anything you may feel that CallHippo is lacking, you’ll probably be able to add it through the various integrations it supports. In total, there are ten different third-party services you can add to CallHippo.
Pipedrive is one of the options where CallHippo instantly displays the customers’ Pipedrive contact history and information when a call is connected. CallHippo supports Freshdesk as well, letting you make a call immediately to anyone from the Freshdesk panel. There’s similar support from services such as Zoho CRM Plus, Hubspot, Zendesk, Intercom, Groove, and Zapier. Last, but not least, you can dial individuals as well as group calls through Slack.
Contrary to other companies in the industry, CallHippo’s pricing is straightforward. First, there’s a free plan, perfect for an entrepreneur since it already provides a good number of features such as a free softphone, forward-to-device and integration with third-party services, among others.
From there, CallHippo provides a Bronze plan that unblocks features like call recording, country blocking, and more. Silver, on the other hand, adds call transfer and call queuing, offers one free standard number with each user, 800 free minutes for incoming calls, and a $2 credit. However, if you want to go all the way, you’ll want to sign up for the Platinum plan. Besides everything included on Silver, you’ll get custom integration, premium support, 3-way calling, custom reports, a $5 credit, as well as 1,500 free minutes for incoming calls.
Besides the free plan, the lowest you can get CallHippo for is $8 per month, per user, by signing for the Bronze plan with annual payments. Since the Silver plans cost only $15 per month, per user (with yearly fees), and offers free standard numbers, it’s understandable why CallHippo’s most popular package is the Silver one. Last, but not least, the Platinum costs $35 per month per user with an annual billing cycle.
However, if your company is already too big to be thinking about paying per user, it’s advisable to get in touch with CallHippo’s sales team. There are custom plans for companies with high call volumes where users are free, and you only pay for the calls.
To get the most out of CallHippo’s customer support, you need to be signed up to the Platinum pack. If you are a Platinum user, not only will you get help through the phone, but an onboarding coach and a dedicated customer success manager.
However, if you feel that Platinum is just too much for you, there are plenty of channels to get support, even when using the free plan. There is a thorough FAQ you can access, social media to get in touch directly such as Twitter and Facebook, email support, and 24/7 chat support. The latter works exceptionally well, and our various interactions on different days and at different hours were more than positive. The customer support agents were kind, knowledgeable, as well as reliable, and it always took just a few seconds until we had someone on the other line ready to help.
CallHippo is, without a doubt, a VoIP service to bear in mind. It provides all the regular features that any business needs, as well as some advanced ones such as multi-level IVR. Of course, it’s always excellent that it’s possible to integrate various third-party services, especially when it comes to CRM platforms like Pipedrive. On top of that, CallHippo takes into consideration both small and large companies, making sure that it has a plan suitable for everyone. If you’re an entrepreneur starting out, it’s advisable to start with the free plan, whereas if you’re part of a big company, contacting the sales team to get the best offer is the way to go. Companies in the middle should go for the Silver plan, costing as low as $15 per month, per user where you get a free regular phone number for each added user.
However, when it comes to everything else Cloud Phone is a jackpot, particularly for new businesses. All essential features are available regardless of the chosen subscription plan, the service includes a simple, straightforward, mobile browser-compatible account manager, while extras like the completely free mobile-only features provide everything you might need completely for free. And all of this comes with the option to pick and choose how many free domestic calls and business SMSs will fit into your business needs in one of four pricing plans, all of which offer outstanding value for money and a generous 30-day free trial.
