Time has marched on and the nail-biting NFL Playoffs are once again on the horizon. Seven teams from the American Football Conference and seven from the National Football Conference will soon battle for a shot at taking home the Super Bowl’s Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Television broadcasts are assured nationally, and there are also a handful of internet streams for foreign NFL fans. However, you’ll most likely find these blocked due to geographical restrictions, something that can be overcome with investing in a VPN service. Furthermore, if you opt for a router configuration you can watch not only the playoffs, but the Super Bowl too on whatever device you want, including gaming consoles for instance.
Whenever the playoffs are on there are a couple of TV channels broadcasting it, and this year is not different. In fact, ESPN/ABC gets a Wild Card game, NBC broadcasts one game from the Wild Card and Divisional rounds each, and all the remaining ones belong to FOX (that has this year’s Super Bowl too) or they’re CBS‘ responsibility. Many of these also have their own online channels and streams through which you can watch the games live. However, if you’re not physically in the U.S. then you should consider a VPN as we promise you a gained investment.
VPNs disguise your IP address, and by offering you a vast range of servers you can virtually travel anywhere you want. With this being said, if you’re a European who happens to enjoy American football, all you need is to choose a server where the geo-block is not in force (preferably the U.S. in this case) and you can run to touchdown.
Unfortunately, some devices do not support a VPN touch directly on their skin, which means you’re going to need to add something extra. This is the case with gaming consoles like Xbox ONE or PS4, which have quite neat media players where you could enjoyably watch the playoffs via live streams. But in order to do this you need a VPN router that allows you to extend the range of your VPN to all the devices within your home network, including gaming consoles and more. Furthermore, FlashRouters sells these VPN routers already pre-flashed with your VPN provider of choice, meaning you don’t need to waste time going over tricky settings. Last but not least, you can also try a double router configuration for increased traffic speed, or you can also manually configure DNS servers on your PS4 via the console’s network settings, although this will not give you the same protection that a VPN does.
