When asked about their golden years, the majority of seniors would explain that they wish to grow old at home and keep their independence. The kitchen is the main source of household accidents. From burns and cuts to slipping and falling, every situation is possible here. Seniors should be always cautious when handling the stove. While cooking, pay extra attention to the handle of the utensil. Be sure to turn it away from the front and closer to the wall to prevent accidentally knocking it over. Every kitchen should be equipped with a fire or smoke detector, insulated gloves, fire extinguisher spray and even a fire blanket.
