The dashboard of Super-Resume is really bland as it only lists your resumes and nothing else – but only after you already started creating resumes. Because when you sign in for the first time you get a huge Create Your Resume button and a search bar for sample resumes. However, after your first resume is created, the button and the search bar disappear, and you can only create a new resume if your click on a previous one.

Things change when you enter the resume creator that looks very logical: on the left you will find your previous resumes while the rest of the screen is taken up by the preview of your work-in-progress CV. The editor allows you to create a resume from scratch or you can upload existing resumes from your computer – but only if they are in editable format, ergo PDF is out of question. You also have the option to search for sample resumes with the search bar, favorite and even save them so you can use the sample as a basis for your own resume. If you need more than one resume, and you just want to copy an existing one, you can duplicate your documents as many times as you want. And once your resume is ready, you can either print it, or you can download it in DOC, PDF or HTML format – but only after you have paid for Super-Resume’s services.

Unfortunately the company has a huge disadvantage over its competitors: you cannot create cover letters with this resume builder, not even if you pay the price of the extra features. So if you need of a cover letter you either have to create one by yourself or you have to choose the services of another resume builder company.

Creating a new resume if you already have existing ones is a bit complicated – but only at the beginning. Because once you have provided your personal information, or you have uploaded an existing document, drafting becomes much easier. Furthermore, you can draft your resumes in a mobile browser, although we suggest you to use a tablet to fully use Super-Resume’s potential.

A new resume usually contains 4 sections, but you can choose from 16 in total and each type of section can be added as many times as you want. Moreover, you can rearrange, rename your sections too. The text boxes of the sections contain some useful tips about what to write, but these tips have to be removed manually before you start writing. Speaking of writing, you can completely replace it with the help of sample texts if they are available for that section.

You can choose from 12 different templates, none of which offer you the option to add a photo of yourself and only one of them uses color to stand out from the rest – at the personal information section. Thankfully you can change the font of both the headings and the paragraphs, and you can even change the size of your fonts. Quite sadly, Super-Resume is one of those resume builders which does not allow you to change the color of the fonts, which – after seeing the dull black, white and grey color schemes of the templates – is kind of disappointing. However, you can “play” with other settings: you can change the scale of the horizontal and vertical margins, the spacing between lines, and the size of your resume from A4 to letter or legal format.

The pricing policy of Super-Resume is rather confusing and tricky, as is the case with certain other resume builders.

The first disappointment is that Super-Resume advertizes itself as a free resume builder, which is a complete lie: although you can create resumes for free and store them on your account, you cannot do the most important things: downloading or printing them. Thus you have to pay $2.50 to the company with Visa or MasterCard to unblock these features for 10 days – and to include the tracking option with which you can create a link that you can send to anyone while being able to see who viewed your resume and how many times. After the 10-day subscription you are downgraded to the limited version again, so you have to buy another term again and again to keep using Super-Resume unlimited.

Although we think that the price of this resume builder is not bad at all – especially considering its overall, average capability – we would prefer to see a better pricing policy with more pricing plans, more payment methods and with the option to set a continuous payment.

This is a huge shame, because the software itself, which is more or less accessible from mobile devices, is good. The document editor is logical, the templates look nice, and you have pre-written phrases and the option to upload existing documents to speed up the process of writing. And with the exceptional resume example search bar – and the variability of the fonts, the document’s size and layout, and the customizable sections – you can truly feel like creating something unique.
