Shellfire Launches Crowdfunding Campaign to Fund Innovative Shellfire Box

Shellfire, the company behind Shellfire VPN, has launched a campaign on popular crowdfunding site Indiegogo to raise money for their new Shellfire Box project. The box is designed to do the same as their website does, namely to connect you to the internet in a safe, secure and anonymous way. As the funding description states, Shellfire believes that free and secure access to the internet is a fundamental human right. Whilst connecting to VPNs is simple from desktop or laptop PCs, most “smart” devices can be difficult if not impossible to route through a VPN. Games consoles, Smart TVs, Blu-ray players and digi-boxes have no method to access VPNs and therefore cannot be used to access restricted websites.

Features of the Shellfire box

The shellfire box lets you easily connect all your devices to the Shellfire VPN service. Boxes come with either a 12-month or 24-month subscription to the Shellfire PremiumPlus VPN service. Even if you choose not to extend your premium subscription, the box will still allow you to connect your devices to the VPN free service, just at a lower bandwidth and with fewer server choices.

There are several tariffs of bid that you can place on Indiegogo, with different levels of reward:

• Returning customer $25: If you already have a Shellfire subscription, then this level is ideal as it just provides you with the shellfire box and no additional subscription. Expected delivery date in August 2015.
• Shellfire box early bid $39: Comes with a 1 year subscription. Expected delivery date in August 2015.
• Outside the box $39: A 1 year subscription without the Shellfire box. Original price is $89 with an expected delivery date in May 2015.
• Shellfire box less early bid $49: A saving of $20 on the normal price, comes with a 1 year subscription. Expected delivery date in July 2015.
• Shellfire box regular bid $59: Save $10 on the final release price. Comes with 1 year subscription. Expected delivery date July 2015.
• Shellfire box 2 year deal $99: Box and 2 year subscription to VPN. Expected delivery date in July 2015.
• Lifetime access $199: Lifetime access to Shellfire VPN and a Shellfire box. Also comes with a mug. Expected delivery date in July 2015.
• Friends for life $249: As above plus a 20 minute Skype call from Flo and Max with hints on how to secure your data. Expected delivery date in August 2015.

For delivery outside of the EU, an extra $10 bid is required.
