The job market is getting more competitive by the day, and a cutting-edge resume is no longer just a nice-to-have: it’s a necessity. With Enhancv you can easily create modern resumes with a fresh look that will catch the eye of any recruiter – even from top companies. Though it offers only four templates, Enhancv provides so much customization that by the time you’re finished you’ll have a unique resume or CV, distinct from all others. The software is extremely user-friendly, and you can easily rearrange all the sections through its drag-and-drop engine. Unfortunately, the free version is very limited, and you’ll need to upgrade to a paid account to remove the branding from your resume or cover letter. From as low as $10.99 per month, you’ll get up to 10 resumes and cover letters, unlimited entries, plus instant tips for fixing mistakes.

First impressions are essential when it comes to resumes. The same is true for software, and Enhancv was able to impress us right from the get-go. The presentation is clean and modern, which is essentially how your CV will look after building it with Enhancv. The resume builder highlights unresolved problems and makes suggestions throughout the document, making it fairly easy to return to your unfinished resumes and continue where you left off. You can also add to or scroll through your resumes and cover letters smoothly and get some inspiration from real-life stories.
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to upload resumes due to the drag-and-drop resume assembly method, and you can only download resumes in PDF format. However, when you start building your first resume, you’ll understand that this is a small price to pay. The resume creator is one of the best in the industry. It offers 20 sections to choose from, and the user experience is so straightforward that creating a modern and stylish resume is child’s play. Furthermore, Enhancv includes content suggestions to help you write the most appealing descriptions. It doesn’t look for spelling mistakes, though.
A neat feature that sets Enhancv apart from its competitors is the possibility to share a CV with friends while building it. You can ask them to offer what they think are your major strengths, which can then be added to your resume. Your friends can also comment on your work in progress and advise you where to improve.
Though the ability to create cover letters is also an Enhancv feature, the editor is not as impressive as the resume builder. Apart from the upper banner that changes depending on the chosen template, the rest is almost the same as writing a cover letter in Word.

Setting up your resume with Enhancv is a piece of cake. When starting a new document, you first choose a template, then add the content. You can select between 20 sections, each one having an explanation of its objective and how to present the information in the most impactful way.
Rearranging the sections is one of the easiest things to do, thanks to the drag-and-drop feature. When you’re happy with the final product, you can either download it as a PDF file or quickly share it through various websites.
Unfortunately, the mobile version is not that great. Its limited feature set doesn’t even allow zooming, so it’s almost impossible to work with.

Enhancv offers four different templates, but don’t let that low number throw you. Enhancv offers so much customization that you can think of these templates as four starting points. Our favorite is the modern template, and we feel it’s the one that works best with the sections feature. Enhancv also includes more traditional layouts, with double or single columns, with or without a photo.
After picking a template, you can play with the font (9 choices), color scheme (12 are offered), and background (15 choices). With so many permutations, you’re very likely to end up with a unique resume, distinct from all others. Customization is also key within the sections. Not only are the titles editable, but it’s also possible to customize how to display the information. For example, in the experience section you can choose which information to display, pushing customization to an even higher level.
You do have to create an account to use Enhancv, but there is a free plan that may answer your needs completely. It’s a bit limiting, as there are fewer sections or customization options to choose from. Further, the free plan only allows one resume and one cover letter. Nevertheless, it’s still possible to download or share these through social media. The final product comes with a branding mark, though.
To get the full experience with Enhancv, you’ll need to pay. But unlike other resume builders, Enhancv has straightforward pricing. There’s only one tier that offers the full range of features, and you can opt for different billing cycles to get discounts. The lowest price you can get Enhancv for is $10.99 per month by choosing to pay semiannually. Unfortunately, there are no options to pay for a specific number of resumes, but you can use the ‘invite friends’ feature and get a $3 credit, or test the paid option through the 7-day free trial.

Enhancv doesn’t offer the widest variety when it comes to customer service channels. Nonetheless, besides email, it’s also possible to contact their support team through social media – Facebook or Twitter – where the answer time is usually around 24 hours. Of course, going through their FAQ is always an option. Enhancv answers a good variety of questions there, so you can easily find what you’re looking for via the search bar.
This resume builder shines most when it comes to the online resources it provides on its website. From quizzes to downloadable worksheets, there’s a lot of content you can sift through. Enhancv’s most outstanding feature without a doubt is its collection of skills and resume examples. There are 500+ skills examples organized by positions, as well as 500+ resume samples for more than 20 job categories.
Enhancv is indeed a great resume builder that helps you create a modern-looking CV with little effort. Furthermore, it provides enough customization to make each resume unique, ensuring employers don’t receive the same template over and over. On top of that, there’s a free plan that – although limited and adding a branding mark – offers enough features for a simple resume.
We strongly advise browsing through Enhancv’s resources, as they offer a lot of added value to your job hunting. Unfortunately, the mobile experience is terrible and unusable. Nevertheless, if you’re not a designer but still want a modern resume, Enhancv is the perfect tool for putting one together. You can get the paid version as low as $10.99 per month, but it’s better to try the resume builder first through the 7-day free trial.
