Using their service, users can connect to SwissVPN’s VPN servers in Zurich, Switzerland and use them to access the internet anonymously behind the safety of a Swiss IP address. SwissVPN has remained a mainstay of the VPN supplier industry ever since with a reputation for providing high quality, reliable, and fast VPN servers. The company has also expanded its service since 2000 with a number of additional features including SSTP encryption, support for IPv6, a firewall option that provides additional protection on top of the protection provided by a VPN, static IP addresses, and more.
SwissVPN supplies a VPN service with incredibly quick servers located in Zurich, Switzerland without bandwidth limits. Additional features of SwissVPN’s service include the ability to assign a static Swiss IP to use with the VPN, the ability to use 128-bit MPPE encryption, and support for PPTP, OpenVPN, SSTP, L2TP, and IPSEC.
Its VPNs can also be equipped with a special firewall mode that gives additional protection while using the internet. The firewall mode allows you to block incoming internet connections from reaching your computer while allowing all outgoing internet connections to leave freely. Five TCP/UDP ports of your choice can also be set to allow inbound connections through the firewall’s configuration page. This feature is particularly useful for blocking Trojan and DDOS attacks.

SwissVPN provides 128bit encryption on all internet connections using their VPN service. This type of encryption is difficult to break and it’ll help to block the prying eyes of hackers and other attackers. The service also routes your internet connection through a Swiss IP based in Zurich, thereby hiding your true IP address.
While SwissVPN keeps logs of their users for six months, the logs only note VPN connection IPs, the amount of data transferred, and the total duration of the connection. SwissVPN does not log any accessed website addresses or information about downloads made through their VPNs.
As the company is based in Switzerland, it also operates under Switzerland’s strict privacy laws. These privacy laws state that P2P surveillance and public IP gathering is illegal in Switzerland meaning SwissVPN users are afforded the greatest privacy.
Since SwissVPN’s VPN service supports all major VPN protocols, it will work without issue on most internet connected devices. Windows, Mac and Linux devices can be easily configured using the helpful guides on SwissVPN’s website, as can iOS devices, Android devices, DD-WRT routers, and more. SwissVPN also has a multi device mode that allows their VPN service to be used on multiple devices at the same time.
The service charges 6CHF per month for their VPN service. As of March 2013, this amount roughly converts to $6.36. SwissVPN’s firewall service costs an extra $2.12 per month. It accepts payment by credit card and PayPal with the option to pay up front or on a monthly basis.

SwissVPN provides an affordable, quick, and reliable VPN service that will allow you to use the internet under the protection of Switzerland’s strict privacy laws. The firewall add-on and the static IP address support are relatively unique in the VPN market, too, and they can be useful if you need additional protection for your internet connection or you require a static IP.
