Hiring the best employees is paramount to a company’s success. Most of the time, the person being interviewed is a stranger. So, using a service to reveal any negative information about them can separate a good hire from a time-wasting one. In 2018, one of the most reputable credit bureaus in the U.S., TransUnion, created a background check service for pre-employment screening: ShareAble For Hires. This online-based self-service platform allows companies to hire on the spot with lightning-fast background checks, providing information about the applicant’s identity, criminal records, and credit reports. With the addition of an incredibly easy-to-use dashboard and straightforward prices, this service promises to become your confidant when it comes to employee screening.
ShareAble For Hires isn’t exactly the typical background check service, as it specifically focuses on helping employers vet the next employee. To generate a report, you provide information on your job applicant, namely their email address, job title, and estimated salary. Once the candidate accepts the screening invitation and confirms their identity, the service will conduct a background check based on your selected price package. This screening method ensures no mistaken identity errors from the get-go, saving time and ensuring data reliability.
Without a doubt, the company’s turnaround speed is what helps it steal the show. While many other services can take days to provide a report, ShareAble For Hires delivers in just a few minutes. Being an entirely online solution, the process is automatic and not dependent on working hours, allowing small business owners to hire the right employee in a flash. But don’t be fooled by the surprisingly fast process – the results are as accurate as it gets and data is regularly updated to comply with the latest laws and regulations.
After the background check is complete, ShareAble For Hires‘ dashboard intuitively presents three different types of comprehensive reports, accessible with a simple click by both employer and applicant.
The first type of report acts as an identity check, comparing the candidate’s information – name, address, Social Security number (SSN), and date of birth – to TransUnion’s databases. This way, ShareAble For Hires keeps tabs on any possible mistaken identity errors and alerts employers if it encounters fraudulent data. It even checks if the provided SSN has been used in a death benefits claim, potentially uncovering possible fraud.
This is undoubtedly the less extensive of the three reports. However, considering that it’s up to the applicant to submit their personal information, it becomes an almost foolproof method of assuring authenticity. The built-in identity verification uses sophisticated algorithms to reduce false positive matches for further accuracy.
ShareAble For Hires can also find out if an applicant has a relevant criminal background. The service scans over 370 million criminal records from databases such as the FBI’s Most Wanted, the National Sex Offender Public Registry, and other federal agencies like Homeland Security, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and U.S. Secret Service, to name a few. Collected data is then displayed in an easy-to-read report, where it immediately shows the number of felonies associated with the applicant. Here, employers will get the complete picture of court actions, the date and description of charges, and possible sentences, with thorough explanations for each.
Lastly, ShareAble For Hires offers a credit report option with its most expensive package. Despite the cost, the value for money here is significant when considering how detailed and trustworthy this report is. It is delivered directly from one of the three major credit bureaus, TransUnion, which contains over 230 million consumer credit files. As a result, it’s no surprise that the service can effortlessly reveal details about past employment, debt, accounts in poor shape, and an entire credit history. Furthermore, ShareAble For Hires is able to provide a complete payment history, where employers get a detailed rundown on any creditors’ names, type and length of loans, as well as a summary of monthly completed payments.
Overall, the credit report is an excellent way to get a clear picture of the applicant’s level of financial responsibility. As a result, employers will be in a better position to evaluate candidates for financial or accounting roles, thus ensuring the right people get hired.
There’s no other way to put it – using ShareAble For Hires truly is a piece of cake. On top of the speedy and straightforward sign-up process that can be done at any time, the platform can be used immediately after account verification, which takes less than a minute. Likewise, reports are generated in a matter of minutes and compiled within a centralized dashboard where everything is conveniently laid out. Here, you can choose to view reports, manage your account, or log out. It’s that simple.
Although there are no mobile apps, ShareAble For Hires’Â website is mobile-friendly, meaning Android and iOS users will get a similar user-friendly experience when carrying out their pre-employment screening.
Unlike other background check services, ShareAble For Hires’ data is sourced from TransUnion reports, ensuring that your results are as reliable as they get. This credit bureau has an admirable reputation in the industry and owns one of the most extensive collections of consumer information. TransUnion additionally uses cutting-edge technology to scan relevant identity, criminal, and credit records to produce the most accurate results possible. Besides, what better way to eliminate potential mistaken identity than having the applicants themselves validate it?
All in all, employers can rest assured that ShareAble For Hires is reliable. Backed by TransUnion’s 40 years of experience, 370 million criminal records, and 230 million credit files, the service continues to generate thorough reports – with more than enough information to help businesses make informed hiring decisions.
Creating three comprehensive reports naturally increases the risk of exposure for the job applicant. Fortunately, ShareAble For Hires guarantees this information is only shared between the employer and the candidate. However, when it comes to collecting general data it’s a different story. The service states that the website uses a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, which then shares your encrypted data with third parties for advertising purposes. Still, ShareAble For Hires clarifies that any user wishing to keep their information private can do so by contacting the company.
On another note, as you would expect from a reputable credit bureau like TransUnion, all delivered reports are compliant with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLBA). This means you’ll automatically be meeting all privacy and employment standards, as well as keeping up with the latest laws and regulations on background checks.
Rather than offering subscriptions, ShareAble For Hires uses a pay-per-use model. There are three packages to choose from when requesting a background check. Basic is the cheapest option at $35 and includes some handy features right off the bat, such as federal, state, and county checks, as well as a national sex offender registry check. The next option – Plus –grants access to SSN checks and fraud alerts for $50 per background check. Lastly, Pro can be acquired for $60 and provides the all-important credit report, plus essential information about the job applicant’s past employment.
ShareAble For Hires’ plans may be better suited to those users who plan to only run a few background checks. However, if multiple reports are needed the bill quickly increases, and, unfortunately, there are no free trials, demos, or refund policies. We would usually see this as a significant drawback, but it is understandable when considering the speed of their checks. However, the company does regularly offer attractive discounts, which decreases the price of Basic to $25 and Plus to $40.
Regarding customer support, ShareAble For Hires gets high marks from paying users. Within the account, customers can access a comprehensive FAQ, phone number – available on workdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST – and an email address, which proved to be an excellent alternative, as we got a thorough reply in less than a day. You can also check the company’s blog and YouTube page for further guidance, both brimming over with helpful information. In addition, ShareAble For Hires encourages users to contact them on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Unfortunately, we got no response after contacting the company through these social media platforms.
There’s no need to beat around the bush: ShareAble For Hires is one of the best solutions on the market for pre-employment screening. Even though the customer service could be improved – notably by the addition of a 24/7 live chat – the other features significantly tip the balance in its favor. Its three-step process of sending a request, verifying identification, and generating reports is an excellent way for employers to understand immediately what kind of person they’re interviewing. Backed by TransUnion’s impressive reputation and trustworthy data, ShareAble For Hires’ reports are meticulous and leave no room for identity errors. Asking for multiple background checks can get expensive, but companies who require only a few screenings will get a lot of value for money. All things considered, ShareAble For Hires understands its importance for small business owners, providing them with a fast, reliable, and intuitive service for on-the-spot hiring.

Transunion Shareable For Hire can not help you if you are having problems with their online portal. I was specifically receiving an error message on their end and they said they couldn’t do anything about that problem. I called again and was told a manager would contact me. Well, let’s just say that didn’t happen. They do not care about you as a consumer. Move on and beware. There are other background check companies that are willing to help you as their client!
Hi Donna, thank you for your feedback about ShareAble For Hires. We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed by the company’s customer support. We hope you find another service that better suits your needs. Have a great day 🙂
