RingCentral Fax vs eFax Comparison

RingCentral Fax vs eFax Comparison

By Zoltán G.Zoltán G. Verified by Adam B.Adam B. Last updated: August 4, 2024 (0)

Thanks to the advancement of cloud-based technology there are plenty of online fax services, all of which provide many useful features, whether that be a fax manager that is designed to be simple and easy to use or the ability to schedule the sending of faxes. These are all things that RingCentral Fax and eFax, two leaders of the online faxing market are both capable of.

And so the real question is just how do these two compare – and, more importantly, differ – from one another? Does eFax, the self-proclaimed number one online fax service in the world, stand a chance against RingCentral, the VoIP and online faxing giant?

Overview comparison for RingCentral Fax, eFax

RingCentral Fax

There is no better way to put it: RingCentral Fax is an undeniable champion of the online faxing market, and not just because of its stellar quality of faxes. Whether it’s the online fax manager, the desktop client or the iOS and Android apps, faxing is a pleasure with RingCentral. There are added options to choose from 13 different cover pages, to schedule outbound messages, and to attach documents to the fax message from third party programs.

In addition to that, RingCentral provides a whole bunch of other enterprise-grade features as well, such as the option to integrate its desktop app with Microsoft Office Outlook and to connect fax machines to the system. And if that’s not enough, there are the small yet important extras like displaying the transmission time of each message and the fact that it is fully compliant with HIPAA regulations.

To really sell the service, RingCentral’s subscription plans are relatively cheap. Regardless of whether the smallest or the highest plan – which comes with 2,500 free pages – is chosen, there is the option to pay month by month or opt for the annual plans, which start from only $12.99 a month.

eFax

Despite seeming like a basic online faxing solution, eFax has quite a few surprises. One such thing is how smoothly everything is handled thanks to its simple and straightforward online fax manager, which also serves as a means of sending large files and cloud storage for uploaded documents that can then be forwarded as faxes later on. Both these documents and any stored faxes are automatically organized to their respective folders, but there are also options to either put them into custom-made folders or to tag faxes so they can be easily found through the convenient search bar.

The real deal, however, is faxing itself. Whether handled from the online manager, the mobile app or the eFax Messenger desktop client – which provides customizable cover pages and a scan-to-fax feature – sending faxes is ridiculously easy. And if that’s not enough, the system allows users to add electronic signatures to any fax before sending it out.

But when it comes to prices, eFax is a bit of a mix. Although a $14.13 per month starting price is indeed cost-friendly, the maximum number of free pages is limited to 400. However, both subscription plans at least come with a 30-day risk-free trial to allow customers to test the service themselves.

Conclusion

This is not an easy choice since both RingCentral Fax and eFax are exceptional services with many convenient features that make online faxing enjoyable.

RingCentral Fax has more innovation, and not just because of its multi-platform nature. The things that really make this service a must are the extras like compatibility with analog fax machines, different integration options for cloud storage apps, the scheduling of outbound messages, and the overall quality of faxes. And to make the deal even sweeter, all of RingCentral’s plans offer good value for money.

eFax, on the other hand, is the epitome of simplicity. However, this simplicity is actually the main benefit of this service. Aside from having great online and downloadable fax managers, eFax provides many useful features, such as the option to send large files, upload documents to the online account or to add signatures to outbound faxes.
