In an attempt to deal with the ever-growing problem of children being addicted to their electronic devices, Little Passports has come up with an ingenious solution. It offers dozens of differently themed boxes, which contain a variety of topics, such as geography, culture, and science. The company guarantees a new box and experience every month for a reasonable price, ensuring you can stick with the product without it hurting your wallet. If your child is finding it hard to choose from all the options, it’s also possible to sign up for one box to discover which is their favorite. This one-month plan is perfect for birthday or Christmas gifts. The cost of these boxes sets the company apart from other similar services, as not only does the price shrink if you opt for annual billing, but Little Passports also provides a 20% discount on its website from time to time.

Subscription boxes

Little Passports offers specialized boxes for kids ranging from the age of three all the way to young teens. When selecting a box, there’s a range of subscription lengths to choose from, along with the option to personalize your box by providing the child’s (or children’s) name and even adding a small message. The boxes are well packaged and arrive in pristine condition. Unfortunately, we had a noticeable tear in one of our products, but this was something unrelated to the delivery and likely an unusual incident that occurred before packaging.

When it comes to the materials themselves, they seem sturdy and appropriate for the age group. For example, everything that comes with the boxes for 3-5-year-olds is large enough to avoid any accidental swallowing. Surprisingly, the materials for the older kids are sturdier and of slightly higher quality than those for the younger children. However, the overall quality difference is not that noticeable and it would be hard for the average child to break any of the products.

Ages 3-5

Made for the youngest of tots, these sets of toys focus on offering a simple learning experience. From discovering numerous different animals with Animals Wild to the world’s wonders with Early Explorers, these boxes are the ideal gift for any growing child. The Early Explorers kit, for example, helps children learn about some of the most interesting places around the world. This box includes a small map, an assortment of puzzles in a cute activity book, and several buildable figures. This all comes in a stylish cardboard suitcase that can also serve as an attractive decoration.

Overall, the quizzes and puzzles are appropriately simple for this age group, and the myriad of facts is bound to be interesting, even for adults. One of the most noteworthy things is how each activity doesn’t swamp kids with information, making sure to balance entertainment with education.

Ages 6-8

As your child grows up, so do the subjects that interest them. When providing entertainment for children aged six to eight, Little Passports can be more creative. Space Quest offers facts about space and constellations, Science Junior includes science experiments, World Edition takes kids around the globe, Kitchen Adventures travels the world through recipes, and Craft Discovery explores seasonal crafts.

With these subscription boxes, the toys are more complex. For example, with Space Quest, not only do children receive a dense map of the life cycle of a star, but also the materials to construct their own little planetarium. Once it’s built, you can spend hours together learning about the constellations projected onto their bedroom ceiling.

Designed to be both fun and educational, Craft Discovery fosters essential skills such as problem-solving, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination, while also providing an opportunity for kids to learn about new cultures, art styles, and nature. For instance, with the Easter Egg Artist box, children have to build their own woven basket by weaving yarn around cardboard and filling it with eggs they decorate with decals featuring designs from all around the world.

While some of these themes may seem simple on the surface, they’re packed full of stimulating learning opportunities and enjoyable games, making them ideal for any child fascinated with science, geography, or crafts.

Ages 9+

With the themes for older ages, Little Passports focuses on some of the more complicated topics. At this point, your child can help you choose what interests them most, making these experiences all the more meaningful. This age group contains one of Little Passports’ most fun boxes: Science Expeditions, which provides everything a child needs to play pretend as a forensic scientist. This includes a complete testing kit, an activity booklet, and even a notebook they can use for future experiments. The comic is a great extra, as it serves both as an introduction and a brief explanation of what the children will do as forensic scientists.

Just looking at the number and type of items offered in a single box, it’s easy to see how Little Passports evolves with your child’s curiosity and ability. However, the first time opening a box can be overwhelming for some children, which is why it’s best to get your child started as early as possible. This way, your kid will grow up with the boxes and adapt to each new level of stimulation at their own pace.

Pricing

Little Passports clearly presents its subscription boxes organized by age range. After choosing a box, you’ll be presented with three affordable plans. These differ only in price and billing cycle, but some 12-month subscriptions, which are cheaper in the long run at only $24.95 per month, come with an extra box. When signing up, keep an eye out for deals that appear from time to time. Shipping is also free within the U.S., except for Hawaii and Alaska. Little Passports has a referral program, where you and the person you referred get $25 each to use on the website. You can also get 20% off your purchase by using promotional codes found on the company’s website. For classrooms, Little Passports offers bulk classroom subscriptions, along with free printables for teachers that can be downloaded directly from the company’s site.

Customer service

Little Passports has an abundance of ways to be contacted: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, email, and even a live chat on its website. If you need an answer in a hurry, the live chat is the best option, connecting you to a real-life assistant in a matter of minutes. The assistants are always ready to answer your questions and are incredibly friendly to boot. Little Passports also has a YouTube channel and TikTok page, where it presents its products, along with small DIY videos for games and recipe ideas. On its website, you can also find an extensive FAQ page, which contains comprehensive answers and helpful links for almost any question.

Bottom line

Little Passports‘ wide range of subscription boxes provides a new, fascinating experience each month that adapts to your child’s age and abilities. Moreover, the variety of activities and toys means the whole family can join in the fun and have a meaningful bonding experience. Children are occupied for hours with games that increase in complexity with age, engaging them with educational and entertaining activities. The best part is that Little Passports is affordable, becoming even cheaper when you opt for annual billing or use the promotional codes found on its website. For parents who want to unglue their children from electronic devices or a family member who wants to gift them a special surprise, Little Passports is sure to deliver a fun and memorable experience.
