Demio vs GoToWebinar Comparison

Demio vs GoToWebinar Comparison

By Daniel C.Daniel C. Verified by Inês P.Inês P. Last updated: November 29, 2024 (0)

Comparing Demio with GoToWebinar is the same as comparing Spiderman with Superman: everyone favors one over the other, but ultimately they’re both superheroes with enough power to save the day. Similarly, regardless of the webinar platform you end up choosing, you’ll be in good hands as they both offer excellent pieces of software. But like the two superheroes, these companies differ in some fine details which will make you prefer one over the other.

Demio

Demio is one of the most user-friendly webinar platforms on the market. Created by two marketers tired of facing technical issues when hosting webinars, Demio was developed to be the most intuitive possible. From the planning to the sharing, every step of running a webinar is child’s play.

Of course, no piece of software becomes a user favorite without supplying a comprehensive features list. By providing interactive Q&As, polls, live chat, and the ability to share the spotlight with one of the attendees, Demio offers all the essential tools to host engaging webinars. You can record any session up to ten hours or provide your audience with on-demand webinars, and Demio allows you to run paid webinars by integrating with Zapier.

Demio does a great job protecting information while in transit, as all traffic uses TLS/SSL 256-bit certificates. However, data isn’t encrypted before being stored on the company’s servers, which is far from great. The lowest price you can get Demio for is $34 per month, but the subscription allows you to host only live events. In order to take advantage of Demio’s on-demand features, a Growth subscription is necessary, which costs $69 per month.

GoToWebinar

Brother of the popular GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar allows you to broadcast to an audience of up to 3,000 attendees. Although video quality is set to HD, this webinar platform automatically adapts itself to provide a stable stream, ensuring that your audience doesn’t miss out on anything due to sluggish video or audio.

Like every other webinar platform, GoToWebinar comes prepared to help you run engaging webinars by providing tools such as interactive polls, Q&As, and a live chat. And due to its sharing capabilities and intuitive nature, displaying your presentation or giving away handouts was never easier. However, that’s not where GoToWebinar stands out from the competition.

One of GoToWebinar’s unique features is a built-in video editor with a video-streaming platform, which allows you to do all postproduction without leaving the software. Furthermore, there’s also no limit when it comes to recording length, meaning that you can go on a three-day marathon and everything will be documented.

Webinars are always secure with GoToWebinar. For data travel, the company applies the industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), then encrypts all information with 128-bit AES encryption before storing it on the company’s servers.

Unfortunately, GoToWebinar is not the most affordable webinar software out there. The cheapest subscription – which only covers live events – costs $49 per month. In order to run pre-recorded webinars, it’s necessary to get the Pro plan, which has the whopping price of $199 per month.

Conclusion

When a comparison is a clash of titans like this one, there’s never a clear winner. You’ll be well taken care of regardless of whether you use Demio or GoToWebinar. Demio is cheaper than GoToWebinar, but considering that the latter provides a unique built-in video editor, you may end up saving on video editing software. GoToWebinar also does a better job at securing your information by encrypting all data before storing it. On the other hand, Demio offers a more intuitive platform and better customer support. In the end, this is one of the cases where the best provider of the two depends highly on what you value the most. Fortunately, both companies offer a free trial so you can test both webinar platforms completely for free before making a decision.
