On May 6, a Magistrate for India’s Doda District, Harvinder Singh, issued an order banning the use of VPN services for two months for all individuals, cyber cafes, institutions, and ISPs in the district.According to the Doda administration, this ban follows a growing concern regarding cybersecurity, public safety, and the integrity of the district’s digital governance. In addition, another district magistrate issued strict orders prohibiting hate speech, violence incitement, and provocative statements.

The Alvin Independent School District (AISD) in Texas was a victim of a significant data breach that exposed names, social security numbers, credit card details, and medical data of 47,606 individuals.The Texas attorney general reported the breach on May 2, 2025, nearly one year after the attack. In July 2024, a ransomware gang known as Fog claimed the attack.
